My first female senior session.

I'm not much of a senior photographer, but here are a few I shot.

These are all the as-shot crops. For a few products, we are cropping in a bit. The last picture is being used printed on metal. All of them are being used on little wallet-type cards.

All are shot with the 5D Mark II and the 24-105L and 70-200 2.8L IS.

Ok, so this is a crappy cel phone pic of a project I wanted to do. I took a panorama (~14 pics I think) off of a bridge in paris, then my wife's idea was to break it up into three separate pictures and frame them individually. They are 20" square with 1" matting and frames (frames were 22" square). Anyway, wanted to share even though it's a picture of a picture, it looks phenomenal on the living room wall in my house

Played around with the macro setting today to see if I could get better pictures than with my previous PnS.

Some gems from this baseball season (and something completely different). I don't get too much time (or travel) for artsy photos so I make do with what I see on a regular basis.

I took these panoramas the last week of April when my wife and I were on our honeymoon in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Grace Bay Beach on Providenciales is amazing.

Robk - I thought you were a tried and true Pentax guy? That bird was shot with a Nikon D7000.

LOL, not tried and true, however I still think they are a good option. Would it suprise you that I went through a 7d as well in the last year.

The same complaint I hear over and over from my Sony, Pentax and Olympus friends is that it is hard to get lenses, especially used lenses.

Wouldn't surprise me at all that someone from the smaller manufacturers went to Canikon.
Robk

Wasn't lenses, but flash. I always said I would get a canon when they had an on board commander mode. Loved the focus speed, but just could not get use to the ergonomics. I need my two wheels front and back. It then became between the K-5 and D7000, but the K-5 was not same deal that prev pentaxs were.

My wife and I were out really late one night for dinner and we were worried we wouldn't catch the metro back to our flat because we had to take two transfers. This is her after our first transfer, worried that we wouldn't make it..we didn't and ended up walking for awhile then catching a cab at 1 am

Second chance to get pictures of a lizard in the last week. This time I got closer than I was able to last time. I shot these at 2.8, ISO 100 and all except the one where it was behind the post were 1/1250 or faster. Should I have gone for f/4 or f/5.6 in this situation? I wanted the blurred background, but it looks like a couple of pictures the top part of its back is blurred more than I would like. Can't tell if it's just my laptop screen or if it really is blurred. Just wondering if I should change or shoot multiple settings next time in a situation like that.

Lets see if I can get the coding right...

Here's a few from our recent trip to Rome and Athens.

St. Peter's Basilica our last night in Rome, taken on our way back to our hotel crossing over the river. What an amazing view.

The Greecian flag flying proudly over the Acropolis in Athens, Greece.

I took a few panoramas but I havent finished all of them yet. Hopefully I will have them up soon!

Not going to post photos of other people's kids, but if you want to get some amazing photos, shoot girls hurdles with indoor volleyball settings. My daughter is on the track team and I provide photos for the school bulletin board. Triple jump, long jump and even shot make for some good photos, but high jump and pole vault are tough to capture. Relays are pretty good at the handoff, but running in general yields mediocre shots.

T&F events are a great way to practice keeping the focus point on a moving objects without the help from tracking. I have taken and deleted thousands of photos from track meets the past three years from just working on different techniques. The hardest part is getting the action shot you want and getting a background that is somewhat pleasing. Like below where I got a nice hurdle photo but the background is meh.
