Thanks dubi and bq06. The shots of the Biltmore were pretty much all done with the Canon 10-22mm. It was pretty dark inside the Biltmore almost everywhere, so I was surprised to get some decent handheld shots. I did utilize the poles that held up the restraining ropes quite a bit to get a little extra stability. A majority of the shots were from the camera hanging from the strap around my neck, partly for stability and partly since there are signs going in supposedly banning photography/video captures.
We also took a trip south of Asheville to
Chimney Rock Park, a neat drive along a river bed that eventually leads to Lake Lure. Chimney Rock is a pretty good destination for a group that may include people not physically capable of much hiking or climbing, since they have an elevator that goes up from the parking lot to decking near the outcrop.
The drive going to the park.

A lovely carpet of Kudzu, one of many we saw.

A view of Chimney Rock from the parking lot.

Finally reached the top of the rock. And, no, I did not use the elevator to get up there!

A view from further up the trail looking down onto Chimney Rock.

This is Hickory Nut Falls, which is nearby along a side trail from Chimney Rock. Not much water at the time, I'm sure there are times it's more impressive.

Stopped at a roadside farm on the way back.

OK, I'll stop for now!!
