However you felt about the way things went down on Tuesday this is an important point.

A lot of attention is now on that clause. It is likely a discussion point for many players in the future.
Maybe that's not a big deal, hopefully it isn't. https://t.co/Db7Khr7ZKP

Where are these "Stephen isn't liked or respected around the league" stories? Other than a guy that didnt get the first offer he wanted (who is 30 and missed 10 games this year btw) and Gregory. Would be curious to see links.

Danny, we were just talking about how they did a terrible job with Dak and Zeke...don't act like the negativity surrounding Stephen is new.

Oh no, Stephen may not immediately cave and give multi-year deals to 30 year olds with injury history. Giving these guys multi-year deals has been working so well. Hit the panic button
No, it's a cumulative effect that makes Jerry so distasteful. Sure he botched deals and reached for players, but what put me over the edge is his cover up of Dalrymples picture taking and his cover up of his affair and daughter.DannyDuberstein said:
Of everything Jerry has done, including boilerplate language in this deal sent you from "dislike" to "abhor"?
Sources: #Raiders pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue is expected to be traded to the #Colts in a deal that includes CB Rock Ya-Sin.

.@BryanBroaddus on @1053thefan right now: think there’s an owner over there that’s not too happy with the way things are being done right now

I'll also say "good" for the Cowboys not rolling over this offseason just because "one of their guys" needs a new deal. Stop being friends and stop over promoting from within.
The Randy Gregory's, Tyron Crawford's, Blake Jarwin's of the world are not putting us over the top. Stop feeling pressured to re-sign every halfway decent starter. You can sign a few, but you gotta let a few go as well.
Let them go and give your young guys a chance. If the young guys play well, fantastic! If they don't, then you still have cap space to go make your team better via trade or the following off-season.
Don’t get your hopes up. Reported this morning that #Cowboys didn’t seem to think they could beat out #Rams here 🤷🏼♀️ https://t.co/c1rm0duK1E

So the issue is the Cowboys got the same forfeiture clause for everybody except for Prescott and Gregory wants the same treatment.Macarthur said:
Florio is about as big as you get from the national media...here's his take.
He makes a good point at the end about going on the record.
If by "botched" you mean that Gregory reneged on the agreement and used contract verbiage that's in every. single. Cowboy contract (sans Dak) as his "out". Then yes, I agree they botched it.Quote:
The Cowboys decided they wanted GRegory back and they botched the deal.

That's not a good long term strategy for the franchise moving forward.Ag Natural said:
I have no problem with Stephen being despised by agents. We've gone 25 years being player friendly and its gotten us zilch. We've been saying for years that the Cowboys need to do a better job of evaluating their own.
.@BryanBroaddus just said his friends around the league texted him and said “this front office is inept” 😭
— Connor Livesay (@ConnorNFLDraft) March 16, 2022
People scoffed when I said the league doesn’t respect Stephen Jones and this front office.

Wow, that's some colorful history with the news only a couple days old and no one knowing what actually happened at the negotiating table.Macarthur said:Legal Custodian said:If by "botched" you mean that Gregory reneged on the agreement and used contract verbiage that's in every. single. But you're leaving out key pieces here. The Cowboys told him they use this for everyone. That is factually incorrect and when Gregory's camp called them on it, they said, no, we are going to leave that. Gregory then says, fine, I can go over here where they don't have that language. Then the Cowboys cry and say, 'well, we would have been willing to work on the language after Gregory decided to leave.' And the Cowboys are trying to play this off (through their channels like Fish) that this is standard CBA stuff and that is not true either.
You are telling half the facts here….
That's what seems to be in question here by people who don't understand contracts and negotiations. From the facts we know, there wasn't anything non-standard in the contract that the Cowboys extended.Macarthur said:That's not a good long term strategy for the franchise moving forward.Ag Natural said:

And there's a diff in being disliked and respected. I can live with them not liking him as long as they respect him as dealing in good faith. That seems to be what's in question here.

All I can tell you is that everyone I've seen that doesn't have ties to the Cowboys organization is taking the opposite position you are. I guess you could be right but that would mean a ton of people that follow the NFL and are plugged into the league and have tons of sources would be wrong.

What gets more clicks? Bashing the Cowboys or bashing Randy Gregory and his agent?
