She's lying about the rape thing but to play devil's advocate, this could easily be one of the guys using her phone. As another piece of evidence, it adds to the mountain against her but just barely.

So it didn't have a password or facial recognition? Seems pretty unlikely given the age of the hoar woman. Although facial recognition might not work given what position she was in at the time.

I'm betting the girl faced no consequences. The only way to stop this is to absolutely hammer women that falsely accuse like this. Other women should be at the front of the line btw because rape is a horrible crime and should be treated as such. Every time this happens it makes the women who were actually raped less believed and less likely to come forward.
She didn't. And I'm sure her parents still believe she told the truth.

It caused a great deal of hurt and division among people who know them both. Neither the guy or girl are living responsible lives at this point. This girl had a history of sneaking off from her home to hang out with guys and do who knows what else.

I had warned the guy to stay far away from her because I knew she would be trouble for him. He didn't listen and let his wrong head do the thinking. He has paid the price and she's just continued on that path.

It directly refutes are claims in the civil case, that's what matters.

A text at that time from her phone doesn't prove she's the one that sent it. There's not even inside knowledge in the text that only she would know. If she was truly being raped then wouldn't it be better for the guys to reply to the roommate to keep her from worrying? And what's stopping a guy from holding her finger onto the phone or holding it up to her face? It's would be more convincing if a passcode was used to unlock the device because they are unlikely to have known the code.

I completely agree that this girl is a liar and is trying to ruin 7 lives to save her reputation and make a few bucks. But since there no real new developments in the story that I know of, I might as well have some fun with this.

I know the trial lawyer lobby would never go for this, but here's what I'd like to see: if a lawyer takes a case on contingency, loses, and the court finds the suit was frivolous and awards the defendant damages, that lawyer should be personally on the hook for paying them.

Right now, contingency lawyers get to roll the dice with almost no downside. If the case hits, they take a third or more. If it doesn't, the defendant has still spent tens of thousands defending something that never should have been filed, and the plaintiff often can't pay any judgment anyway. The person who actually decided the case was worth bringing, and who stood to profit most, walks away clean.

Put the lawyer's own money behind that judgment and watch what happens. Weak cases get screened out before they're filed. Settlement shakedowns lose their leverage. Small businesses and property owners stop paying nuisance money just to make a lawsuit go away.

I wonder how many cases would disappear overnight.

It's like some of you don't even read the posts you reply to. Are you not aware the Craig claims she was drugged with ketamine and gang raped? Her accusation is what would make this not a normal frat party, not someone using her finger to unlock a phone.

Yeah thanks, I get that….but there's not a single explanation they've offered to why she claims this. Not a single reference to her being brutally raped and passed around like a female hostage in an ISIS camp….just a believe us bro blanket generalization of muh gang grape

Based on the last few pages of this thread and how at least one poster has gone full-blown conspiracy idiot, maybe we should rename this the Q-ornell Seven thread.

Except she, by her own admission, voluntarily took the ketamine, explicitly went there, by her own admission, to have sex, and, again by her own admission, voluntarily had sex with multiple guys before she says she passed out and couldn't remember the part where she was raped, only that she knew she was. This is ultimately, "I remember getting **** faced and high and starting the gangbang, but I don't remember how it ended so I must have been raped. Oh, and deciding to report it weeks later after everyone found out and I got upset about being disinvited to a party with the same guys at the same frat house that I was supposedly raped at is just a huge coincidence."

Drunken consent is not consent. Sorry your parents failed you, and everyone who agrees with you. Sex is part of a relationship for a reason. A hookup under the influence of drugs and alcohol is a dangerous place to be. Sorry, it is, and if you don't know this, your education and morals are deficient.
