district court judges should follow the law, not change the law. Trump will ask the DC circuit (appeals) to overrule the precedent or carve out an exception. (Can't appeal a TRO, so assumes an injunction enters after a full hearing within 14 days)

The president flat out said he was banning them because he didn't like the stories they were reporting.

We are lucky that he's so honest about a lot of the unconstitutional **** he tries to pull off. A more competent leader might get away with it.

I'm sure the judge is happy to rule on 5th amendment grounds and hope this goes away, but zero chance it would survive the 1st amendment argument if it got that far.

No judge has any level of confusion on this issue, but the pattern has become really clear. Find some procedural grounds to rule on and hope the administration doesn't push the issue because the judges don't want direct conflict. Tariffs, birthright citizenship, etc. The courts toss it back and say, please just knock it off now

It's important to understand correlation and causation.

Trump appointed judges are going to correlate better with sound understanding of the constitution, a commitment to ruling based on the law, and general competency.

Obama Biden judges correlate strongly with dip****tedness, ruling on they feelz, and orange man evil.

However, who appointed the judge does not necessarily CAUSE them to behave a certain way.

It's more appropriate to say that if a judge can grant a TRO based on a due process claim that neither side disputes, versus weighing in on a slightly more complicated First Amendment issue, the judge is going to do the former. I think you explained this earlier as well.
