They had PLENTY of time before SoL ran out.

In terms of priorities, how much time do you think it would take to investigate and indict a perjury charge?

Why I think those became the last minute compromise. They were originally looking into more serious charges but hit the SOL wall which was why the original appointee balked, since it would be futile. He couldn't find a work around absent espionage charges and those are weaker.

So the perjury and obstruction charges were the fall back position. Does that mean Bondi didn't mishandle the case? No it does not. If anything she should have had two or more teams working on different charges in a parallel manner to present options then pick the best ones to present to the grand jury.

OTOH, Patel and Bongino had to get in there to find where the evidence had been hidden first. So they were behind the 8 ball from the get go.

"They were originally looking into more serious charges but hit the SOL wall which was why the original appointee balked"
IANAL
I still believe the criminals should be brought to trial even after the SOL. Then if proven guilty in a court of law the Judge just says you have been found guilty and all charges dropped because the SOL has passed.

I know this will never happen but I still feel this way.
We really need to rewrite our laws concerning libel and slander.

Remember the Richman stuff far predated Bondi's AG tenure. So if those materials were improperly seized, it was more likely done that way on purpose to render it inadmissible. Not saying that definitely as sheer incompetence is always present as a possibility.

So this would not be on Bondi or Kash. Garland and Wray would be the perpetrators.

The last search warrant was done in June 2020. The first one in August 2019 was the only one where Richman wasn't given the opportunity to review the materials seized to assert privilege. That would have been done under Barr and Wray as all of the privilege reviews were done by the end of 2020. Arctic Haze was shut down in June 2021. All of them likely share in some of the blame.

Damage to Comey has already been inflicted.

His best option is to fade away. Any time he pops his head up, embarrassing info will come out about him to tap him back down.

Apply the same to his family, friends and coworkers until he decides to quit running his mouth.

We would have been better to go to trial and be exonerated… you know, like he begged for when indicted…

I guess I disagreehe avoided any prosecution for openly being a traitor to his country. And he will get to go to every leftist media outlet and get paid still. While continuing to live his incredibly comfortable life he's had already. If the shoe was on the other foot, the libs would shoot this guy in a heartbeat to get revenge.

Oh I would love to see him legally held to account.

But I think he is building, has built up enough taint where he will get less and less of those appearances.

And if he no longer a victim of Trumps wrath, then his relevance disappears.

Just my thoughts.

Imagine waterboarding this fruitcake and hearing him spill the beans on Comey. We all know he was following orders to lie to FISA court in order to illegally spy on Trump to help execute their treasonus coup. Strzok texts "we will stop him". They all got away with it. A travesty.

Bump...if Comey or Brennan ever get cuffed, it may be Trump's biggest accomplishment. Without finding a deep state snitch, its doubtful.

Regardless, people care more about a decades old overseas fued, than the biggest scandal in US history. Our own CIA/FBI conspiring to frame a sitting POTUS for treason.

The Department of Justice indicted former FBI Director James Comey for the second time on Tuesday, CNN reported, citing "two sources familiar."

The outlet did not identify the charges against Comey. The indictment follows a court dismissing a previous case against Comey, which was mired in legal scrutiny over the qualifications of acting U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan.

Reports broke in March that Comey had received a subpoena as part of a "grand conspiracy" probe by the DOJ.

Comey became a figure of national notoriety in 2016 after he announced that the FBI had reopened an investigation into then-former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a move that many have said swung the election to President Donald Trump.

Not a chance. Abbie Lowell is paid by Soros's fiddle of gold.

This only costs Comey the same think it costs all devoted libs… their soul.

Sure seems like an abuse of power. Will be interesting to see how far Democrats push it when they're back on power.

Lowell would just do it for free.

Meanwhile, firms and lawyers were threatened with exile or worse for even considering representing Trump in the lawfare cases.

Abuse of power to take a threat seriously? Comey is being treated like any average Joe (not Biden) would be.

He ****ed up, he knows he's ****ed up. Is he getting 10 years? No, but the more his "good" name is kept in the pooplight the better.

But in no way is this an abuse of power. Remember, an independent grand jury indicted him. Thats the gold standard we have all been told.

Key factors (the "Watts factors," still used today):
Context: Anti-war protest/political debate.
Conditional nature: "If they ever make me carry a rifle…" (tied to draft resistance, not a direct intent).
Reaction of listeners: The crowd laughed; it was seen as rhetorical exaggeration, not a serious plot.

For the anti-war protestor, the factors are clear and point to a non-serious threat.

Comey provided no context on his own when posting. So context is inferred and that's not a good look for someone who has had a massive public beef on Trump for years.

Conditional nature is missing from Comey's artwork as it is a call to action. He would have been better if he had posted "if Kamal is not elected, then…" followed by the picture.

Reaction of listeners: There are now multiple examples of people taking these tweets as "calls to violent actions".

It should not be thrown out as the above should be adjudicated in a court of law and by a jury of his peers. He is welcome to and will have the opportunity to present his side of the story.

Im saying the term 86 can mean multiple things and for an attorney that is going to be the hurdle he has to clear in front of a jury.
