I'm more suprised that he broke lib when his college and military career should have made him a recruiting poster conservative.

The media is the main culprit of why these people have so much hate in their hearts. The media outlets continue to be the domestic enemy of our country, brainwashing the uneducated (and sadly also the educated) to hate anyone who is republican and voted for Trump
It wasn't reporters who called BS on all this. They went along with it.BBRex said:David_Puddy said:

If the media had the grip and sway you seem to think, it wouldn't be circling the drain and desperate to keep the doors open a few days longer. It wasn't, for example, reporters who called Trump supporters "deplorable." It isn't reporters calling for violence on ICE. It isn't reporters teaching Marxist theories at colleges and universities. The media should take its share of blame, but it isn't some puppet master.

Reporting includes calling BS on BS. So, your response is, BS.BBRex said:
Yep, they reported it. That's the job.
Agree that's not the role of government, and I would fight against any government effort to penalize her even though I despise her opinion. Freedom from government retribution for speech is an important principle, even though many leftists won't equally defend it when the accused is conservative.Tom Fox said:
Doxxing her is fine. Let the public make her unemployable is also a good thing. Having the government take her license for espousing a vile opinion crosses the line. That is not the role of the government.

On doxxing, if she made her statement publicly under her own identity, then broader disclosure of it is fine. After all, she chose to make her profession public and assign her name to it.
If it's an anonymous account like yours and mine here on TexAgs, then doxxing is out of bounds. No one has a right to disclose personal information we chose to remain confidential.

It's absolutely ****ing gross the **** that I'm seeing posted on Reddit. Makes me sick to my stomach. Ignorance and hatred and tribalism at its finest.
With that being said, I read a decent piece today that pointed to staffing at NWS being down 20% YoY and the Austin/SA region being down 5/25 employees with complaints of staff shortages. One of the jobs vacated being a management role responsible for warning and notice communication. It's not out of the realm of possibility that these cuts left voids.
IMO, we shouldn't even be having this discussion yet. This is a time for continued search and mourning. I assure you some of these parents are going to take up the mantle for finding out what went wrong here.

So, let's discuss the flooding in Texas.

Maybe a hot take, but I don't want a pediatrician who hates half of the kids to treat any kids in the future. I'm 100% okay with her losing her license.

That is not up to the government to determine from someone's speech. That is a slippery slope that we do not want in this country. Free speech should be protected.

Do you want your children to be treated by her? Do you want to risk she may care for your child differently versus others? You are a fool if you want that.

Are doctors not held to a moral and ethical standard? Doesn't the Hippocratic Oath have a standard of respect for human life?
This lady violated everything a physician should stand for and be.

I have the option to not take my kids to her. The same as you. But I do not want the government to take away my professional license because of political speech no matter how vile.
Now if she acts on those beliefs and she is provided due process, that is different.
So long as she is in the private sector, the government should keep their asses out of speech.

Based upon her public posts are you comfortable taking your children to her? Be honest.

Catch all bs like that can be used to censor speech from both sides and I am opposed to that.
If she takes some harmful actions to her patients, that is a different story.

Her bias has shown that she cannot be trusted to offer the same level of care regardless of a patients political ideology.
Also, perhaps read up on this lady. Not the first time she's gone off the deep end.

That cuts both ways and is not the role of the government to police speech for private employment. Period. The end.
If I said I hate Arabs, cannot I still be an attorney in private practice if my clients still want to hire me?
