He's back on Epstein.
I like Musk, appreciate what he has accomplished, admire his work on SpaceX, think he will always be one of the most influential figures in the 21st century and maybe in history of the modern human era.
But he suffers from hysteria and people would be keen to keep that in mind concerning his X posting.
Elon certainly has done some great things. He has also abused the system to enrich himself. Likely all legal but still unethical as the law cannot catch everything.
He has done some great things, no doubt.
But he is crazy too. I believe his 2 issues are reduce debt, and unlimited H1B visa so he can benefit with slave labor.
He is hurting his companies at this point. He needs to either stay in business or do politics 100%
He didn't abuse a system by following the allowed procedures and law. Nor did he abuse it by following capitalist principles.
Now, I think it is fair to argue about the pervasiveness of H1-B visas. When I started in public accounting I worked alongside quite of few of these. They were paid in the same bracket, many if not most had attended a US university, and most have now become US citizens.
But... they would work insane hours in order to continue to prove their "value" and it was not lost on them that they were beholden to their employer and that their job opportunities at other companies / firms was dependent on the visa.
To your concern, it creates an uneven playing field. I would like to see something done about that.
But it is not slave labor.
