A vote for Ds or Rs is a vote for hanging our albatross of debt around the neck of our kids and grandkids

At least a vote for a 3rd party gives them a non zero chance

We know it's garunteed under the Rs or Ds
What we know is a D is guaranteed to win if a fiscally conservative party breaks off from the Rs.
party platform must be designed to pull an even 20% from each side. Obviously much easier said than done.

Just replace some spenders for house and senate seats.

I dont care where it comes from as long as spenders lose their jobs to spending cutters

Thing about Elon is he's kind of let his ego get to him a little bit because without Trump he's just another billionaire. He has no political clout with anybody. Everybody hates him so he can beat his chest all he wants and threatened to throw billions into elections, but he's not gonna get anybody elected. Money didn't get Trump elected I don't care what you think Kamala spent over $1.5 billion in three months Trump didn't spend that in the entire election money don't get you elected. Hillary spent 1 billion Trump spent a third of that and beat her. It's not the money.
His money that he spent on buying Twitter definitely helped get Trump elected. So, yes, "money" definitely helps get someone elected. Just not necessarily direct funding. Trump/Clinton and Trump/Harris.....Trump was the least ****ty of the two candidates, nothing earth shattering there. A billion-plus spent doesn't change the nature of two shrill harpies.

And, yes, Musk has let his ego get the better of him. Sounds like someone else we all hear about a lot nowadays.....

There's no denying the importance of Elon buying Twitter. He literally made the biggest contribution to the first amendment than any single person in history in my opinion. His purchase did more to sign the death certificate of the mainstream media than anything else. It likely swayed voters to an extent but Susie Wiles keeping the campaign disciplined and focused and Stephen Cheung and the rapid response team really stayed on top of things and on point

People trying to figure out what Elons reasoning is behind his Twitter rants is the epitome of cats chasing a laser pointer.

Outside primarily all abut two Rs in the house and 3 in the Senate, what is Elons plan? Sow chaos in an attempt to reduce the deficit. Bold move cotton, let's see how that plays out.

Also, if he continues this path he will have to resign his companies. As we all know, Elon shuns all subsidies and repays all grants, but he still has billions in government contracts that create a conflict of interest. Recall his unwillingness to open his books is the reason he was just a special government employee and limited to the 120 days or whatever the limit was.

I still haven't seen a a plan other than it's not Trump, not D, not R and only represents about 10% of voters.

But hell yea, let's follow Elon!

Too funny. Should be interesting to watch.

If you have read this board for long, a lot of people love to lick the boots of the rich and powerful. We are talking about an anonymous internet forum, not real life (where you have to suck up to the MAN to survive). But still people do it. Elon is rich and successful, no one can deny. So the pavlovian reflex to salivate when they see dollar bills and cheer him onto whatever idiocy he has indulged himself in. I see that with some of my friends/neighbors too. If you criticize Elon, they try to defame you by saying you are "jealous".

Or... people cheer other people who champion what is important to them. It's the same reason all the Trump people loved Elon until a month ago. There's a bunch of posters here criticizing Elon for being rich who have defended Trumps weird money making schemes, even though he's rich, too. It's just convenient to criticize Musk now that Trump is against him. A hazard of not having base principles and instead supporting a personality.

What you say makes sense too!

This clown Elon, if they take power, will open up the H1B floodgates and everyone from India, China, Africa will be in the US and our TexAgs Boomers will give us a thumbs up saying "if I find someone better from another country, I will go hire him!". But the real reason for this is they see their 401k go up. It will. But at the cost of their grandkids futures which they don't care about.

I am waiting for Trump to act on H1B and other outsourcing. Do it now.

Trump from Truth Social:

I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely "off the rails," essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks. He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States - The System seems not designed for them. The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds! Republicans, on the other hand, are a smooth running "machine," that just passed the biggest Bill of its kind in the History of our Country. It is a Great Bill but, unfortunately for Elon, it eliminates the ridiculous Electric Vehicle (EV) Mandate, which would have forced everyone to buy an Electric Car in a short period of time. I have been strongly opposed to that from the very beginning. People are now allowed to buy whatever they want - Gasoline Powered, Hybrids (which are doing very well), or New Technologies as they come about - No more EV Mandate. I have campaigned on this for two years and, quite honestly, when Elon gave me his total and unquestioned Endorsement, I asked him whether or not he knew that I was going to terminate the EV Mandate - It was in every speech I made, and in every conversation I had. He said he had no problems with that - I was very surprised! Additionally, Elon asked that one of his close friends run NASA and, while I thought his friend was very good, I was surprised to learn that he was a blue blooded Democrat, who had never contributed to a Republican before. Elon probably was, also. I also thought it inappropriate that a very close friend of Elon, who was in the Space Business, run NASA, when NASA is such a big part of Elon's corporate life. My Number One charge is to protect the American Public!

For most of the platform, Musk is better off backing the right candidates in Republican Primaries, but there are a couple big RED Flags:

- Universal Basic Income

We all know our politicians are bought and paid for. Unfortunately for Elon it doesn't work when it's done openly and transparently by billionaires. The voters won't go for it.

Elon might have had a shot if he wasn't so obsessed with the spot light and instead made it appear grass roots like the democrats try to do, or at least like the tea party movement.

What's Elons platform?
Unlimited H1Bs no cap?
Ev and green energy subsidies ?
NASA contracts for SpaceX?

Elon just has too many billions depending on government policies and regulations for him to be trusted to endorse free and competitive markets, or what benefits lower and middle class Americans that aren't business owners.

After so many decades of trying to change the Republican party to be fiscally responsible and getting the opposite, it seems like less of a stretch to work within the America Party to drop 2 easily droppable parts of the platform.

I'm in. This is the result of Trump actively pushing conservatives out of the party and all the MAGA telling everyone we have no choice... well, we've seen what happens when a party claims to represent a group of people and then actively does the opposite, yet the people keep voting the same way. You know what they say the definition of insanity is...

It never ceases to amaze me that all these TDS deranged Trump haters just can't get it through their head that if there was anyone on the planet that could pull off, trying to make a successful third-party it would've been Trump and he even knew better. What Trump did was manipulate and motivate the existing Republican Party and teach them how to fight back instead of being the whipping boy for the left like they've been for the last 40+ years. People love to talk trash about Trump and that's fine it's their opinion and they're welcome to it but let me tell you something about your sacred Ronald Reagan. They were pushing drugs in the United States the whole Iran contra deal the whole deal with the Bush behind the scenes and Cheney just twisting and manipulating everything. They were government drug dealers while they're out preaching "just say no" and anyone that refuses to really realize that as a reality is just living in a dreamworld. Our government has been corrupt so long people have forgotten what not being corrupt is.

You're not saying anything that disagrees with me. If you have a government that is spending, bare minimum, $7 Trillion.... to think there isn't going to be insane levels of corruption and grifting is just dumb. Having one party tell me it isn't happening and the other telling me it's only happening when the other party is in power, and there's nothing we can do about it anyways is inexcusable. You can excuse Trump all you want, but it's like having a current wife who is way better at cooking and she's much better looking than the ex-wife, but yeah, she still runs off and cheats on you every weekend. That is unacceptable, and the better food and better looks aren't exactly the important thing.

Musk is autistic and this is his personality. No filters or controls, ever. He should be thankful he has the support group that he has around him, and government subsidies, for getting him as far as he has.

Everyone and their dog knew for a long time that this budget bill in whatever form was going to increase our debt by a lot. He only got mad when his inner circle informed him that this is going to put most of his business that depend on government subsidies on life support.

The America Party recently released its platform. It should delight small government types and conservatives:

  • Universal basic income
  • Carbon taxes
  • Responsible spending (what the heck is that, whatever Musk says it is?)
  • Sustainable investment (i.e., green energy)
  • Invest in AI, robotics, and space (i.e., Musk's favorite pork barrel projects)
