My family and friends freely traveled between Ukraine and Russia in the 2000s and 2010s prior to 2014 with no issues. So did Russian and Ukrainian families.....
Illegitimate coups staged by the West can have far reaching consequences. Us breaking our commitment to not advance NATO membership eastward (Reagan, Bush 1, and Clinton assured him) is the other part of that.
