This feels like an interrogation with the intent is to wear down the defendant and get him to trip up so the DA can drill in. It seems like the defense attorneys should be protecting him more especially since, from what I've heard, they recommended he testify.

Basically the lawyers argument is as follows:


"Kyle, if you wouldn't have been at a protest, carrying a rifle, while hostile people were breaking the law and setting fires to everything, you'd have never shot anyone--- so the fault is yours."

yea but a long, drawn out, and inane cross examination can be exhausting. my longest was 8 hours and it was brutal, and largely irrelevant but it still wears on you.
