Again, what the hell is Pat Henry doing allowing this nonsense?
I was one of the old Ags at Sully 10 days ago. I was standing next to "Leroy" and I kept urging him to not engage the protesters, that we were there to keep Sully from being defaced. I did have a civil dialogue with 4 protesters who were all Aggie students, one of which was Infiniti. I would not be at all surprised if there was an attempt to damage Sully. On the Friday I was there, CSPD and the campus police were in attendance close by. I hope they will be again.
And I hope some younger Aggies show up to "guard" Sully this time. The more the merrier.

I sure hope Leroy learned a lesson and keeps his mouth shut this time. His words definitely made the situation more volatile last time.
Hopefully Jhamon will be there. He kept things from getting out of hand once Leroy got everyone riled up.

Ah yes, people not understanding a message of unity and threatening murder was all Mr. Leroy's fault. People weren't riled up when chanting "f the police", taking off their clothes, getting in people's faces, shouting rather than talking one at at time, etc. How about we try a nice helping of personal accountability for persons of all colors, young adults and old alike?

If they bring them down, everyone involved in tearing them down should be charged to the maximum extent of the law. Depending on the amount of damages, criminal mischief could put them away for years. Their damage to the statues are far from cheap.

Where does that get me on the privilege scale? Hmm... I think that means I get "White' not "Asian" privilege this time? Oh wait that's just even worse according to the media! Can I be reclassified by gender identity then? Wait no that would mean they classified my privilege as "Straight White Male", the horror!
Sadly, the issue is that if statue is taken down, they aren't putting it back up this time.

What I tried to say to the 4 I was speaking with 10 days ago was that I agree there are problems in our society with racism and inequality, especially in the criminal justice system and education. But that Sully is just a symbol, to them. of racism. So I suggested their time would be better spent trying to end racism and inequality instead of taking down a symbol that many respect.
