And I think at this point it's very clear that anything done as a counter is going to be portrayed as racist. I mean, the Ags that stood the last time could not have done much more to be quiet and non-confrontational...but one guy makes a remark that wasn't well thought out and the entire group is portrayed as racists that hate Aggies. Every time something like that is spread on social media, it only helps the anti-Sully side.
I don't agree with the talking points of the anti-Sully crowd. But you have to choose your battles on things like this.
If they try to do something to the statue, it will be on camera...and I don't think a ridiculous display like that would win over hearts and minds to support the removal. I think it would have the opposite impact.
Guess we can't defend anything anymore, better give in and let the left do what it wants. We definitely don't want to be perceived as racist because that's much worse than letting the statues get torn down.
Agree. What comes after choosing battles? Put a stop to this, you may or may not keep Sully, but let them have some consequences , since admin jut wants to keep Cush jobs, and elected officials just want to keep getting elected.

If a clear message had been issued a month ago that removal was off the table and any attempts to illegally remove it would be grounds for expulsion this would have been over...at least for the athletes. Continuing to let it simmer only creates more ill will from both parties. I admire the dedication of the Ags willing to stand peacefully. If they do this again, and it appears they will...then it's probably best for them not to interact or say anything...because whatever they say is going to be posted on social media.
The confrontation will be intense, and it only takes one person to raise tensions.
