4 episodes in and they're still really heavy handed with the feel sorry for women's sports theme.
Structurally, good Ted Lasso episodes but this political mantra is growing tiresome.
I don't think this is the show for you.

Also as Ted addresses the team he says
"I know it's late. I know you're weary. I know your plans tonight don't include me."
Referencing Bob Seger's We've got Tonight

I'm not seeing anything political. It's just how the world is. Women's sports are not popular. Rebecca and Keelee are trying to change that.
I was leery after episode 1 for many of the reasons debated earlier in the thread. It levelled out though and I am enjoying it.

I didn't care for Ozzy Osborne's speech to people she wants to get money from, but this was a very good episode.
I'm not sold on this test that Keeley is giving Roy, but I enjoyed where the writers took it.

I hope Roy sees the bartender again and it all backfires on Keeley.

Yeah, I'm assuming she will be a storyline going forward. Which was needed, towards the beginning of episode 4 my wife and I discussed how the Roy/Keeley storyline was getting pretty stale

There was a poster on the wall of the men's room advertising a show written/starring his ex., titled "whatever happened to the baby, Jane?" The poster was a pic of her and Beard in profile. Beard and Jane apparently broke up between seasons

If you read the synopsis of "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane" you might be able to see some potential parallels. My guess is that something personal between Jane and Beard is going to come to light in whatever show Jane is putting together.

I don't get that at all. It's entertainment. Try being less miserable.

I have an opinion.
It's different from yours. Doesn't mean I'm miserable.
I like the Ted Lasso franchise in general and will keep watching, but calling it like I see it.
