I've never been to the Sphere but my friends who have, have raved about it.
The May 30th show on Memorial Day weekend looks promising.

Over/Under on ticket prices?
$2112
It's definitely going to be The Big Money

Following the travel package link, Tickets + Hotel: Starting at $3,067.59 all-in price

That does include two tickets to the show, transportation to/from, etc. 2 nights accommodation at Fontainebleau

Wife and I and a group of friends saw the Eagles at The Sphere 2 years ago. It is hands down the most incredible concert experience I have ever been a part of. Everyone is rightly focused on the visuals, but the sound is amazing too (a speaker pointed at each seat so it's the same anywhere in the arena). Do what you can to go.

We've been waiting for the Rush announcement, unfortunately those dates probably won't work for us. Hoping for more dates.

something I learned during the metallica announcements, some people were saying that sphere contractually only allows so many shows to be announced at once, so you get these chunks of shows announced at different times.

All to say, highly likely there will be more. It's a license to print money for these bands that do it.. very minimal stage production/setup cost, and a one time cost of visual design.

That's how John Mayer's rollout worked. He is there in April, May and June of next year. With a noticeable break at the end of May that Rush seems to be filling.

But they did not announce all the shows at once, they kept adding them as the previous ones sold out.

Take my money! I'll go to every show they do.

Wait. I just checked my 401k today. Nevermind.

Just imagine all those dead and phish fans.. those bands didn't adhere to a setlist. I read that Phish didn't repeat ONE song for all 13 shows.

that's ~200 songs..

At least with rush, you're getting roughly the same show, so only need to go to one.

Not so.

I saw them five times this year. No two shows were the same. Some songs they play every show, but they worked up 38-40 songs and play 20-22 each night.

It's a set list of 39. Really 33 as 2112 is 7 parts and they count it as 7 for the. 39.

A set is 20-21 songs nightly. The core is about 65% the same but not always in the same order. The other 35% rotate around. Even the 2 basic lists (MP in entirety or full 2112) arent the same. And then every now and then they throw a wild card where you get. 2112 and MP together.

Yall are both talking about regular tours though.

This is sphere, with coordinated visuals which changes things.
maroon barchetta

They had coordinated visuals for everything. And for any gaps the crowd is fine with seeing them on the big screen playing.

I don't think it will be the same set every night.

Missing my point; phish didn't play any song twice for 13 shows.
I initially said you'll see 'roughly' the same show. Is this not accurate?

maroon barchetta

Not missing your point.

It's not roughly the same show.

Xanadu
Working Man
Time Stand Still
Bravado
Tom Sawyer

Those are every night

All or some of 2112 each night

All or some of Moving Pictures

The rest varies from night to night.

So that's the same as 200 songs over 13 shows?

Come on man. It was a simple humorous comment 'just imagine the phish fans'

Don't get so defensive.

Rumor is full album performances of 2112 and Moving Pictures. Time to pawn things for tickets.

Not a rumor - from the email I got early this a.m., in Geddy's own words:

"We are presently working hard to expand our touring concepts and concoct some new madness to suit this incredible venue and musically perform the kind of show we've been doing in some of our "one off" cities.

Meaning playing all of 2112 and all of Moving Pictures along with an array of other songs. We are so effin' excited to make use of this incredible opportunity to please our fans both visually and viscerally - from wherever they might fly in from. Gonna be so much fun!!"

It's not the same. Not what I was saying.

You're missing the point.

I'm saying they aren't playing the same set every night as you inferred.

So I guess we can officially say it's Rush 3.0. It's not just a memorial tour any more.

And I for one am all for this next step. I cried in parts for Neil at the shows. But they will need to move on. Anika clearly has the chops and the fans are clear in their voice. She is a member of the band and isn't just filling a seat. Good for her and good for Rush.

Tickets in the 200 section, 2 drinks, VIP lounge and a meet and greet. That would be epic. We've done a meet and greet w Alex and Geddy before and they were exactly like you'd think - a lot of fun and personable. No price listed.

metallica m&g was $5k in late teens and recent tours. And James stopped doing them a decade ago, just the other 3.
Now it's just 2 I think.

Ok, if we can get back to it and away from set list cat fighting,…

Last night's show was great. Our 3rd so far. Set list included Headlong Flight, in which Anika was just insane.

As to prices, guy beside us spent $2800 for his 15 second M&G. Got his Grace Under Pressure album signed by the guys to complete the trio as he already had Neil's on there.

Since this was show #3, we purposely took few pics and no videos. But, yeah, I should have zoomed in on her for 1-2.

Alex was so cool, as usual. At one point, he looked at us, pointed back at her and said, "She's so awesome."

Made me smile from ear to ear.

Great pics! At our meet and greet years ago (Vapor Trails) my buddy couldn't think of anything to say and blurted out to Alex "you gonna make funny faces on stage while you're playing guitar?" I cringed but Alex without missing beat said " Funny faces?! Those are Rock Star faces!!"
