Parked near the VIP check in.
So far crowd is mostly dudes 55-60+
I've seen a couple folks in their 20s with their parents.
Saw one father son combo figuring out which weed they were going to smoke in the parking lot and which weed they were bringing into the show.lots of old tour shirts, jackets, etc.
Saw one young guy with a girl and was impressed that a young girl would be into Rush. As they got closer, I figured out it was probably his mom and she was close to 60.
Lots of friends going to the show together.
A big banner outside the venue boasting about 4 sold out nights.
Time to get in line.
So, there are two different VIP lines.
Superconductor and Stick it Out.
And I just heard a third VIP group called Closer to the Heart.
They give you your merch before you go into the venue so, you do have an opportunity to take it back to your car.
Also, I'm really disappointed with 95.5 KLOS for not hyping the show on the radio.
But, Jim Ladd died a few years ago and I think Uncle Joe died within the past year, so the old guard truly is gone.
A cop with a K9 just walked by. I assume not looking for marijuana LOL.
Plenty of fans with Rush reference shirts like the 60 y/o lady wearing a "Lakeside Park" shirt.
VIP merch was a Rush shaving bag like your father or grandfather would use, a VIP laminate on a lanyard and Yeti coffee mug with the bird from Fly By Night.
Merch situation isn't much better than when I saw GNR in Riyadh last year with respect to speed of service.
They've got custom shirts for the 4 LA shows. That design has 3 surfboards on the beach. I'm going to try to get the poster they have of that. Shirts are $50 and they have a baseball jersey for $200.
Just saw some Roll the Bones shirts but the oldest shirt I've seen so far is the Grace Under Pressure shirt on the guy behind me in the merch line.
Dude in front of me graduated HS in 1970 in Toronto and claims he had Rush and Triumph play at his High School. Probably did.
Only seen 2 maskers so far.
5G is a no go on the floor but The Forum WiFi seems to work.
Best outfits I've seen so far besides some 60 year old women in leather pants, was a father/son combo dressed in red coveralls like the cover of Moving Pictures with - Rush patches, NASA patches and a few mission patches. I didn't look close enough to see if one of them was STS-1 with "Young and Crippen really moving out now".
My seat is between a 350 pound guy and a 275 pound guy.
Pre show conversation with the guys sitting by me revolved around beating cancer. That's where we're at
