Palm Springs is a very underrated movie with Cristin Milioti. Granted, I first started crushing on her as the Mother in How I Met Your Mother.

Man, I'm really hoping that Harvey Dent becomes a staple in Batman 2, and then they run a court drama with him between 2 and 3. He becomes Two Face in Batman 3, and we feel it more because we've had time with him as Dent.
When you get multiple gangsters like Maroni, Two Face, and Penguin, you get a feel for the darkness of Gotham (and maybe even the Court of Owls pulling some strings)

But with this level of success, they might want to rethink that, and expand the story if it's possible.
Yeah, kinda sucks it was only meant to be a limited series.
But on the other hand, it kind of means Penguin won't necessarily make it out of the season right? Cause if it's just setting up the second movie, we could be going forward with Sofia Gigante rather than Oz.
Would be unexpected for sure, but damn if they didn't get a whole bunch of people on board with Sofia with a single episode.
Granted, that's still highly unlikely. This is very much feeling like we're setting up Oz to fully "break bad" with his villain arc after his mother dies.

I have to assume with the character of The Penguin being one of the most well known in the Batman universe and with Collin Ferrel playing him that The Penguin character will be a central figure in next film.
Wonder if we get a Court of Owls appearance at all towards the end of the series to set up the next movie.
My prediction: the Court of Owls intervenes by abducting Oz. They control the media so the news announces Sophia killed Oz, which leads to Oz's followers to seek vengeance and start killing the Gigantes. An actual war between the gangs breaks out which leads us to the next movie.

No idea about the Court of Owls, but I think the most likely scenario is both Sofia and Oz make it to the movie.
That would be my bet as well.

I think odds that any important character makes it to the movie, save for Oz, is incredibly low. I like the connective tissue, but you got to think Matt Reeves and co. has learned a thing or two from Marvel. These shows expand a character for the film, but if you introduce a bunch of important players in the shows, people start to see them as homework or they will be confused in the movies because they didn't watch the show.
I could be wrong about that, but I'd be really surprised if Sofia or Victor makes it past the last episode alive or in Gotham. I think this will be a stand alone story that shades Oz for those who really care and nothing of significance will really carry over into the film.

Hopefully someone will learn the lesson from all other comic book movies, and not constantly kill off their villains.
Oz/Colin Farrell has been confirmed for The Batman Part II for a while now. That's our "season two," which will pick up a week or so (in-universe) after the season ends. (Just FYI, I mentioned all of this on the first page of the thread.) The question at this point is whether Vic or Sofia make it out of the season alive. Right now I'd say no to the former, and a slim but growing chance to the latter.
I think Sofia will be around, but I think Vic is toast. Something will happen with the mom, he'll blame Vic or somehow betray Vic. Something is going to come out of Squid noticing them.
I thought the Squid thing would pop up by the end of the episode. Since it didn't, it tells me it likely plays into the long/end game for the season

I agree that Victor doesn't make it to the movie and is used to cement Oz as a REALLY bad guy. And I think they're so focused on Sofia that I can't believe that she doesn't make it into the movie...maybe as a Court of Owls component?

Technically, the Batcave is in "Wayne Terminus," which was apparently a "private train station" of some sort that was shut down in the 1980s. So not public, and not a trolly system, at least according to The Batman Wiki. That said, I had the exact same thought, as they have to be setting up some kind of connection there. It's simply too coincidental that both Batman and Penguin's base of operations are now in closed down train/trolly systems underneath Gotham.
That, and they've teased this guy twice now, both in the mid-season trailer and the episode six trailer...
I'm not saying he's Wayne's "Drifter" character on the same motorcycle from The Batman, but both trailers open with him, as if they at least want us to think it's him, for whatever reason...
Incredible episode. Really well done. Very Sopranos like. I did like how they lightened some of the shots, nice change of pace. Plot is top notch.

I was simply pointing out the similarities and speculating what such a seemingly intentional misdirect could mean. That said, I still think there's a slight chance Penguin & co stumble upon the Batcave in, say, the very last scene of episode eight, but that's about it.

At the very least, by the end of the finale there's apparently a pretty heavy hint at who *a* villain for Part II is. My guess is the Court of Owls, but who knows...
