Finally, something official to look at! But somehow, still no release date.
Will be premiered at the NYFF on 9/27, and released on Netflix in Fall/Winter 2019.
I am going to bet that they release it to the big screen for award season. They did the same for "Roma".Brian Earl Spilner said:
Yep, that's Pesci.
My main concern is this feeling like a "Netflix movie", and not the event that it is. I mean, a Scorsese movie with DeNiro, Pacino, and getting Pesci out of retirement?
That's the stuff movie theaters were made for. It's kind of a bummer, actually.

hopefully Pesci can carry this as the other two are terrible and have been for a decade
I can see a new extra way to make movies for studios on the horizon where they release for wide cinematic release the concise and "regular" version of the movie, and then release a much more extended deleted scenes version for Netflix or another entity to make even more money from that avenue. Think the Complete Godfather Epic with its awesome deleted scenes that left viewers wondering, "how the hell did Coppola leave THAT scene out of the movie?"AgGrad99 said:
Im kind of surprised more movies aren't 4 hours long these days.
Not so much movies released in theaters... but with streaming services, we're all used to binging an 8 episode season in 1 hour increments. What's the difference at this point? We'll just watch a long movie over a week's time like we do everything else.
I'll take a long movie on a streaming service over another series that you're supposed to watch 20 or 30 episodes of in order to "really get into it" before the big pay-off comes in episode 72. (I exaggerate... a little)AgGrad99 said:

Take it to the Politics Board!TCTTS said:
Tarantino did this for The Hateful Right earlier this year on Netflix. Added footage, rearranged a few scenes, etc for four one-hour episodes. Could definitely be a fun model going forward...
i'm sure there are a lot of people who feel exactly like this. it's all basically just "content" at this point and the streaming services make it easy to consume that content at your own preferred pace.AgGrad99 said:
