yea, I definitely adapted quickly, and it was really only that early truck scene where pesci calls him "kid"TCTTS said:
The de-aging stuff never quite works and there's not much context for what time period we're in, exactly, if you're just going by the look of the main actors. At one point De Niro looks 60 but he has like an eight-year-old kid and it's all kind of disorienting. That said, after the first twenty minutes or so I just kind of rolled with it, stopped caring, and got used to it. Wasn't even really thinking about it in the second half.
Could not disagree any more.Brian Earl Spilner said:
Better than Goodfellas.
I'll wait til the weekend to discuss it more, I figure more people will have seen it by then. Let everyone form their own opinions and whatnot. Everyone should definitely make time to watch itBrian Earl Spilner said:
This is more of an epic, to me. A true life story. Very Godfather-ish type of ending, which I enjoyed.

For me, I think that maybe as great as it was to see all those familiar faces again, some of them aren't really up to it anymore. Felt like some of the performances were lacking at times. Still enjoyed the movie though.Complete Idiot said:
It was an interesting story, it was well crafted, it was well acted - but I felt it was missing something compared to those past Scorsese mafia movies. Might have suffered from build up, not only contemporary reviews but those prior movies and the careers of Scorsese and the cast. I enjoyed it but don't feel like I'd want to rewatch as I have Goodfellas or Casino.
I do recommend it, it's good - just has so much to live up to.
