This sounds like its 100% in support of the Democrats. The best thing about Veep is that while some issues may be discussed, they don't make it heavy handed and focused on politics. Its focused on the terrible, terrible, terrible people in politics.ATM1876 said:

HBO doesn't give a *****and right or wrong, that's one of the many reasons why I love them.
If they had a max exodus of subscribers, they'll care.
They literally have encouraged the sharing of passwords on their apps. They know what they're doing. That, and they've been producing left-leaning political content for decades now, with Real Time being one of their flagship offerings, not to mention their partnership with Vice. This latest move falls right in line with what they've been doing for nearly as long as they've been in existence. They're certainly not going to start worrying about alienating people now.
Then they're dumb. This is launching a direct political attack show right before the elections. This isn't normal programming. It's their call and certainly doesn't bug me, but if they start losing customers, they'll care.
I'm guessing most rational people will simply pick from the hundreds of shows/movies that HBO offers on demand. I'm not going to cancel a subscription just because they ordered another season of Girls. I'll just watch something else
But that's what HBO is. I don't understand the surprise here. I totally forgot about Last Week Tonight with John Oliver as well. They produce SO MUCH left-leaning political content already, and aren't shy about it in the least. And I would say more than half the scripted shows they've ever produced have either leaned left, took endless shots at Bush/conservatives, or were from showrunners who were blatantly liberal in doing so. I'm not saying I support their views, but HBO is a notoriously liberal, left-leaning network and extremely proud of it. It would be like just now expressing surprise that Fox News hired yet another conservative mouthpiece to combat the left. That's who they are.
