I started rewatching this on my flights. It is amazing how well it is written and how terrifying Tim olyphant is as Seth. That cold hatred of every one that doesn't live up to his moral code is just so perfectly and terrifyingly portrayed. Even as conflicted as that code is.

And the premiere is now at 27.7M+ in US including additional weekend plays and continued viewing on other platforms.
Re: BOW. Other midseason battles had little or no bumps really (Blackwater, Hardhome and *******s).... hard to say though S8 is it's own thing and that battle has been mentioned on nearly every talk show. I think it will approach 17M also but not quite for first night viewing.

The last season and a half of GoT has been somewhat of a disappointment. I would absolutely put Succession's first 10 episodes up against GoT's last ten. Of course, overall, GoT's first six seasons were better than just about anything else on TV. What do you mean? It looks to be tied directly to it. Rorschach's journal clearly inspired a group of Rorschach disciples. And Jeremy Irons is almost surely playing an older Adrian Veidt.

Lindelof isn't technically calling it a "sequel," but it's meant to take place years after the original graphic novel. From the start, I don't think this was ever rumored as another take on the graphic novel or anything like that.

Yeah, I think the idea is that it's basically modern day in that world. The same amount of time has passed and it's what that world looks like three-four decades after the events of the graphic novel.
Lindelof said it wasn't a sequel in his letter announcing the series, but then it sounded suspiciously like a sequel when he described the series.
I mean he also said Prometheus wasn't an Alien prequel.

HBO released a new trailer last night showcasing footage from basically every one of their shows that has starting shooting, confirming even more 2020 releases, which I've updated in the OP...
