Speaking of Curb, RIP Marty Funkhouser...

Dang, that sucks. I loved his character. I wonder if he finished filming all his scenes for the upcoming season of Curb? Or if he was even in it, due to his cancer?

Also, how did I not know that he was Albert Brooks' older brother? That's crazy.

I once sat next to him and his wife at a showing of Public Enemies. His phone rang in the middle of the movie and he stood up and left the theater to answer it. For that small bit of common courtesy - which is rare in LA theaters - he will always be tops in my book.

i usually enjoy courtroom proceedings and drama, so if this has that, then i'm definitely in.

We now have HBO's spring line-up, and it's a great one...

Game of Thrones - Season 8
Veep - Season 7
Barry - Season 2

Game of Thrones is the only one with a date so far (April 14), but because it's such a relatively short season, I'd expect Veep and Barry to start a little sooner - likely late March - so they're all ending their seasons at around the same time.

Veep is only doing 7 episodes to GOT 6, compared to their usual 10. It's more likely that they premiere together than end together.

Good to know. Still, True Detective ends February 24 and Crashing ends March 17. That's a pretty big gap until April 14. Something's going to have to fill it, hence Veep and Barry likely starting earlier. That, and HBO's schedule is stacked this year. They can't really afford to have the first summer round of shows not start the second Game of Thrones ends.

Season 2 debuts March 31, same day as the final season of Veep.

Just FYI, that puts HBO's spring slate ending by May 19, the Sunday before Memorial Day Weekend...

04.14 - 05.19 (6 weeks) = Game of Thrones
03.31 - 05.19 (8 weeks) = Barry
03.31 - 05.12 (7 weeks) = Veep

Chernobyl, HBO's new mini-series, will then finish out May (we don't have an exact date yet), and then HBO's summer slate will start at some point in June, which will consist of Big Little Lies Season 2, and then likely two yet-to-be-announced comedies (potentially The Righteous Gemstones, Silicon Valley, or Curb?).

In 100% agreement. What a great trailer. So much to look forward to.

His Dark Materials looks great in that brief peek, btw. I haven't read the books, and it wasn't on my radar at all, but I'm definitely intrigued.

Finale : 20M
Average per ep: 14M
