I actually thought it was a great episode

the Kardashian kids, who have been shown (played by actors) for a total of 23 seconds in the first two episodes of FX's acclaimed miniseries.
Twenty-three seconds is one third of one percent of the total show's total running time.
quote:
The Kardashian parts tonight were clearly black comedy, satire at it's finest. If you didn't get it, you might try tuning in to The Big Bang Theory and leave this one alone.
quote:I laughed when I saw Runkle, but he ended up being pretty good in it.
The guy introduced this week playing Dershowitz was awesome. I remember him mostly from Californication.
I did enjoy seeing the dream team and the defense strategy come together. Prosecution was being very cocky.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I strongly believe the message here is that Robert Kardashian as a stand-up guy, while the rest of his family is rich trailer trash. If anything it's one long middle finger at the kids and Kris Jenner.
quote:Exactly. It's really more of a wink to the audience, but they're also showcasing Robert Kardashian more than I expected. And to be honest, that's the one aspect of the whole story that I know the least about. He really seems like the most sympathetic character on the side of the defense.
Do you actually believe anyone is watching this show to see 2 mins of baby Kardashians?

quote:This show got 12M viewers for the first ep, and the Kardashian shows get about 1M. I think you're far overstating the interest in them and FXs desire to leverage that.
absolutely. obsessed fans are always interested in learning every detail about those with whom they are obsessed. a glorified Hollywood portrayal of the OJ case is able to attract a ton of viewers that were too young or not even born when it happened by tying in the Kardashian kids as much as possible.
quote:
"I hate them" means you are close to loving them.
quote:"Couldn't care less" is the phrase you were looking for.
They are hardly in it. It is more annoying to me for the Kardashian character to keep calling him Juice instead of OJ.
When you hate someone you have strong emotions towards them. When you love someone you have strong emotions toward them. When you could care less that means you have little to no emotion toward them. This overblown nonsense about those kids means ya'll are thinking about them too much.
quote:
Because it gets in the way of the actual show. It adds nothing and takes away time that could be spent on something actually relevant to the case.
It's crappy television when they're on.
quote:That's Sarah Paulson, who is literally half the woman Marcia Gay Harden is.
As another poster said, Travolta has been utterly fantastic, beyond anything I would have thought him capable at this stage in his career; I hope Marcia Gay Harden doesn't get lung cancer as a result of this show, because you could play a drinking game where you chug a beer every time Marcia Clark lights up a smoke and be drunk by 9:25 p.m.
quote:Ray-J, not Reggie Bush.
It is interesting though that the Kardashian kids' fame would never have existed had this not gone down (and of course the Bush sex tape). There's a very interesting comparison between the media frenzy that this stirred and that which the Kardashians cause today (earned or not).
