Only gripe I have about tonight is that they got him out of both tough spots in the same show that they were presented. They could have drug that tension out for a while.

Raylan still has the murder weapon hidden, and until Quarles is out of town, or the murderer is found, I dont think Raylan is off the hook.

The FBI would have still be hassling Raylan if the regulations hadn't forced them to stop (not willing to divulge their source).

What was a bit silly to me, was the raging woody the FBI had for Raylan, when it seemed a bit obvious that he was being set up. Would a Federal Marshall have been so dumb to leave the trail of evidence that was leading back to him? Doubt it.

Great Great show though.

I'm curious to see what happens between Limehouse and Quarles. Is Limehouse setting him up, or is he actually working with him?

Also, they need to have 'Tim' (Raylan's co-worker) on more. That guy is funny, and their back and forth is great.

I think Limehouse is already siding with Boyd.

They have done too much to establish Limehouse as cautious and worrying about the racial politics of Harlan for him to side with an outsider against Boyd, much less an outsider who is turning out to be as unstable and unpredictable as Quarles.

And yes Tim's delivery is great.

Limehouse is setting himself up to be safe regardless of the winner. I think he sees that "choosing no side" will not enable him to win. He must be on the winning side.

Gutterson! Agree he needs to be on more.

Can't believe he is this guy:

banter like this easily makes this the best show on TV as of lately. It feels as clever as a Clint Eastwood one liner, except both sides of the conversation just crack me up

I assumed the FBI didn't want to divulge the source because it was an illegal wiretap...

Does anyone else think the audio sound editing could be done better sometimes? Every episode there are a couple times where I will have to rewind to re-listen to something to make sure I heard it right.

Deputy, are you accusing me of being a fake blonde? Because if you need me to prove it to you, I might be inclined to break you over that step-ladder, ride you down like a teaser-pony, and paint this room an entirely different color

I’m pretty sure he was saying that because they were being watched by the feds they couldn’t afford any screw-ups. Not that they had a deal with the FBI.

ETA: Raylan explaining the throwing the bullet scene and the cops' reaction was hysterical.

I wasn't a fan of Wyn Duffy when he first appeared in the show, but now I'd hate for him to leave. His scenes and dialogue with Raylan are some of the best scenes in the show.

Right now, Raylan-Boyd, Raylan-Duffy, and Raylan-Gutterson are tops for me. Gutterson is the most underrated character on the show.

I am still trying to catch up on the series but I am a fan of Duffy too.

Has he always watch tennis and live in that mobile home?

I'd have thought he was a bit weird but then there is Quarles.

The threat of sodomy in response to the bottle blonde crack was pretty funny.

Dont forget Raylan-Art. His interaction with the Chief Deputy is pretty hilarious and one that i look forward to.

Agreed. He needs more screen time.

Is it just me being a huge fan of this show, or is T. Olyphant doing an INCREDIBLE job in this role?

When I first saw the previews of the show, I thought, "Oh great, it's the Deadwood sheriff, Hitman guy playing the same role that he's done in other places". But he's funny! He's doing some cool stuff with the character! Etc.

Notice the "favorite interactions" lists. Raylan and Art, Raylan and Boyd, Raylan and Gutterson, Raylan and Duffy. Common theme there is Raylan!

Goggins is still the best actor on the show, but Olyphant has come a LONG way in the last 10 years.

Smokedraw01

The best part of the show is the writing and how they are subtle with the parts that make the show great.

I loved when Raylan walked into Boyd's bar and punched him and took him in the backroom. Johnny tries to grab a gun and then yells "Raylan" like they are kids fighting and this is nothing new. It just flowed so well and was very believable that this is how it's always been and always will be.

The dialogue is just phenomenal. It's Deadwoodish without all the extremem cussing and Shakespearian English.

They did get picked up for another season and I hope they keep up the great work and keep their writers happy.

I will ask that if they are going to blow something up, actually blow it up instead of using awful special effects.

My only quibble is what they've done with Wynonna this season. It isn't believable to me. She's gone, now she's back, now she's gone, oh yeah, and she's pregnant.

So, the show only gets a 95/100.

i dont know. i've liked olyphant since Go. goggins is great, and has been an unexpected surprise for the writers, but olyphant has carried this since day 1 imo.

agree w/ol jock on wynona.

Agreed on Olyphant being great since Go. This is the perfect role for him. A mixture of Deadwood and Go.

her leaving him and coming back and leaving again aren't examples of a pregnant woman having mood swings. she isnt a fully developed character (because if she was, her actions wouldnt make sense), so the writers kind of use her leaving and returning to advance or fill the plot when needed.
which makes it hard to root for them to be together.
which makes you realize any scene with her in it is one where raylan isnt interacting with boyd/art/gutterson.

I'd like them to revive the Dickie and Dewey storyline somehow, I love those characters....

C'mon, it's pretty standard TV writing. Ross and Rachel, Dawson and Joey, Zach and Kelly. If Raylan and her got along, she would be ignored completely as a character.

So many great characters, it's hard to fit them all in. I don't think it's a good idea, but you could have a Raylan free episode at this point.

Art really is a great character. His disdain for the FBI was amusing. The scene with him beating the crap out of that informant/murderer this season was phenomenal.

The female agent, Brooks, seems to have taken a lower profile in recent weeks. I'm fine with that. She's had a few good scenes, but I'd like most of her screen time to be allocated to Art and Gutterson.

Winona seemed to be an ancillary character at first....just a story on the side, which developed into more.

I liked the storyline they had going with her and Raylan.....and the baby makes sense, because they were debating him quitting his job and becoming an instructor. It just added a spotlight to the fact he had more to consider outside the job...but was still having a hard time getting away.

But once the rest of the story got going, and Raylan couldnt get away so easy.....where are you going to go with the other storyline?
aCosmicBandito
How long do you want to ignore this user?
I imagine they might have Quarles kill off Winona to eliminate a domesticated father figure Raylan which would also give them the option of sending Raylan down the bottom of a bottle next season and getting into trouble for his drinking on the job or turning him into Terminator revenge mode on the Dixie Mafia and Duffy. Either of which could be fun and interesting to watch.

I will smack the **** out of Graham Yost or any other writer that would dare kill off that fine, fine woman.

How dare you even suggest such a thing?

Not saying it'll happen. They've set it up as a possibility though. Quarles has repeatedly said he needs to know where to squeeze to hurt Raylan. Framing him didn't work, and he doesn't give a crap about his dad. Only person left is Winona. That would be, in a writer's mind, the best way to give her character significance now instead of continuing the same old 'will she or won't she come back' cliche or letting her only pop up from time to time after the baby is born for random Raylan with a baby episodes.
kgc123
How long do you want to ignore this user?
You can just take Winona getting killed right off the table. Even if I could find that idea believable, the fact that she is pregnant completely negates the premise. The show is about a backwoods marshall in deep kentucky, and the writers are going to go ahead and let the audience know they are pro-choice. not a chance!
