I think this episode exceeded federal guidelines for amount of awesomeness legally allowed in one hour of television.

"See this? The next one's coming at you faster."

McDonough smiling for Raylan's camera-phone picture was priceless. We may be in store for an epic final confrontation between these two.

I like the competing oxy rivalries setting up between Buck Compton and Boyd Crowder. That should be GREAT!!! With Raylan stuck in the middle trying to deal with both sides....and Limehouse crew waiting in the weeds.....this is shaping up to be an epic season.

Maybe I was just in a mood.....but that whole Harlan Roulette scene was TENSE!

getting better and better. Just imagine if they take it a step further and throw the miami mob back into the mix.

I really like Duffy and Quarles interaction.

For some reason the scene when Duffy walks into the wrong room with a naked guy tied to the bed, then Quarles politely directs him to the right room while talking to (I think) his kid on the phone and walking to into the room and closing the door, had me cracking up.

It just seemed ****ed up and funny at the same time.

good episode dripping in foreshadowing. Between Oxy Dealer saying that quick draw contraption has to be perfect to Raylan bragging that he can draw and kill the pawn store dude before he can even raise his gun, I don't think there's any way that this season doesn't come down to Raylan trying to beat the Oxy Dealer in a draw.

I thought Raylan was bluffing about outdrawing the pawn shop guy at that time since he was still healing from the beatdown last season.

I was so disappointed to see the pawn shop guy die. He seemed to have some potential.

One of the many things I like about this show is the way they cast the characters. The bad guys look like they could conceivably be someone who's had a rotten life and turned to a life of crime or drug addiction. For some reason, all the crooks on Hawaii 5-0 look like they're running late for a photo session for next month's issue of GQ, or should be hosting a cooking show (Iron Chef), not running some seedy underworld shenanigans.

I really thought they wasted a great oppty with the Bennett clan. Such great characters to kill off after a single season. Such a shame.

Raylan's looks after Pawn shop guy and his lackey shot each other were fantastic.

I need to check and see how many viewers this show is getting because I hope to God it's enough to keep it on the air for a long time.

Definitely the best show on television.

It was great. You could see him thinking, "oh ****, I missed out on interrogating this guy about Duffy. Damn it."

I've always thought Neal McDonough was a good actor, and he has been superb thus far. The interaction between him and Duffy is really good and frankly, those scenes are tense and creepy because you know both of them are absolutely without scruples.

I'm going to call my shot now and say that Duffy will shoot Buck Compton or at least attempt to have him killed.

Man...you are NOT kidding. It was weird, awkward, I had 8 question marks floating around over my head....and I still chuckled.

It was......I don't know.....strange?

Call me a fan of McDonough but I am really surprised how much I like Wynn Duffy.

I remember that actor (Jere Burns) from other shows but I have been catching up and I like his character.

And I agree the interaction between Quarles and Duffy is great and full of scene stealing moments.

So far, I think the strength of the show is the chemistry between characters. Lots of fine actors but the interactions take up a notch.

The casting has gotten much better as the show's rolled on.

The first season, the 'bad' guys that appeared in an episode or three were a bit cheesy, but all the interloping characters these past couple seasons have been great.

I really like how they are building up this story line with the competing factions setting up shop.

Duffy is too big a poos to go after Compton.

How many episodes have already aired for Season 3? I recently went out and purchased the first 2 seasons on dvd based on what I read on this thread. It's a great show! I just finished the second season this weekend and I was wondering how far behind I was and if anyone had recommendations on how I could catch the ones I've missed.

wow. What a ****ing badass episode tonight.

I just watched every breaking bad episode for the first time in the last month. It was awesome.

This show is better. It had its growing pains in season 1 but since then it has been ****ing unreal.

That's the only proper way to recap that episode.

Dewey Crowe, good lord. That guy steals every scene he's in with his abject stupidity and the cluelessness of how stupid he is. The actor really nails that part. Dewey in the bodybag had me rolling.

Devil is such a moron. He's one step above Dewey Crowe, thinking he's a big shot and not having near the wherewithal needed to pull it off.

Boyd v. Devil was great.

Limehouse and his boys are outstanding.

Any of you who are college football fans and know the blog "Every Day Should Be Saturday," I recommend following their Twitter feed during Justified episodes. Those guys are obsessed with the show. http://twitter.com/edsbs

Boyd using full honorifics and titles is forever giggleworthy.

Walton Goggins is the ****ing man. Boyd Crowder is the best villain on tv now after the "departure" of Gustavo Fring in Breaking Bad

America's destiny is not of our own choosing. We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedom and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people's strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arrive.

I've never researched his history, though I know he had a decent run on "the stage"... but he was incredible in all 7 seasons of The Shield and is absolutely killing it so far in Justified.

As I said previously - I could listen to that guy read the freaking dictionary.

I never watched The Sheild. What type of Character did he play on that show?

Spolier for the shield (kinda)*******

He was one of the dirty cops on the shield and a main character. He played the racist, hot headed cop with an inferiority complex to Vic Mackey to perfection.

Aggrad99,

Watch The shield. It's an awesome show. I guarantee you that you won't be able to watch just one episode at a time.

One of my favorite scenes from last night was the money exchange. Whoever the guy was that had the gun on Dickie asked if there was a gun in the cooler. In my mind I was thinking that but then he backed off, so I was wondering if he had it booby trapped. Said character asked the same question. Nothing happened but I liked that a scene that I thought was predictable wasn't even close to being so.

It's the little things.

Their pacing is solid now. They continue to have awesome weekly action while still advancing the season-long story arc. Oh, and having the best casting and dialog on television doesn't hurt either.

But not the same kind of racist he plays in Justified... A toned down one that tried to be tough but really couldn't without Mackey around.

And while he developed the inferiority complex to Mackey, in the first 2-3 seasons he was his loyal right-hand-man that looked up to him almost as a father figure that he wanted to please.

I had serious doubts when I saw he was cast for this show of him being able to play any other character with as much ease and charm... and I think I even had those doubts after the first few episodes, but his scenes have now become the highlight of the show.

It's just baffling when you see shows with big-time budgets like The Walking Dead have characters that can't act and dialogue that just seems to incredibly forced. Then a show like Justified comes along with not just great writing, but character after character that is *believable* and compelling. I've even enjoyed the scenes with Bubba from Forest Gump.
