Hell of a way to start the season. Had to re-watch the scene with raylan and Quinn at the table a couple of times- excellent

A little more sex to go with all the other good stuff seemed justified and was appreciated by me.

Gig 'em, FAST FRED '65.

i never thought this show would turn out so well, only started it cause tuesday was the one night of the week i didnt have a show to watch. Now its in my top 3, and i watch pretty much everything on AMC, FX, SHO, HBO. Just gets better and better.

I think im naming my first son Raylan.

Brilliant way to start the season. I was curious to see how Raylan was going to foil Icepick Nicks in the game with the gun at the table, he did not disappoint. I've watched that scene probably 10 times.

One question that I didn't quite understand: what's the deal with the stolen watches? Nicks had them in the briefcase in the motel room. Were the watches going to be the drop item between Arnett and Detroit? Was the heist of the watches Arnett's way of getting that money quickly?

Correct. 8-10 ultra high-end watches could equal $250k very easily.

after last season and reading that article from warmingglow i had pretty high expectations, and it did not disappoint in the slightest. IMO, its the banter between the characters that makes the show. the action is great and natalie zea is smokin, but the back and forth between raylan, boyd, art and even gutterson.

LOVE this show!

Yep. Completely unrealistic. Who has sex in a flannel shirt.??

Other than that, awesome first episode.

I think they set up the season finale with a scene where the new bad dude with the gun up his sleeve drawing against Raylen

I really liked the first episode this season....but it felt somewhat disconnected from the past season/finale.

We've spent so much time on the Bennett's and the newly formed Bennett/Boyd fued, I was curious where that was going to lead.

The old woman killed herself, but her sheriff son took over, and another sheriff was trying to help Boyd get rid of him so he could become sheriff.

Seems like quite a few story lines are still floating around out there, if they want to come back to 'em.

The same thing happened between season 1 and season 2, though. Bo Crowder was dead and suddenly the Bennetts are around and established crime lords.

Supposedly (I think this was in a Kentucky.com article over the weekend about the new season and Harlan County's feelings on the series), there will be a plot line in season 3 revolving around a sheriff's election. I'm guessing that's for Doyle's replacement.

West -

I guess you're right, it just seemed to flow better.

I really liked the season premiere, it just seemed to stand on it's own, rather than picking up where we left off.

I wonder what Boyd is up to. He purposefully put himself back in jail. The Bennetts ostracized brother/son is in there, who also happens to be familiar with the family's drug operation. I'm curious if he'll hook up with him, and have one of the Bennett's working for him shortly.

So the only Bennett left is the skinny dude in jail with Boyd (can't remember his name)?

I was under the impression Boyd wanted to go back to jail to kill that guy for shooting Ava.

Great show. Glad it is back on. And really like the additions this season. Love the addition of Neal McDonough, and Carla Gugino is always great. Along with the already great cast and writing, this season is for sure another winner.

My suspicion is that Boyd went back to jail to take out Dickey.

I'm amused that Dickey and Dewey Crowe are buddying up in jail. There's not a full set of brain cells between those two.

Boyd is going after Dicky in jail, and he's also trying to take over their drug ring(we can deduce this from the opening conversation in the marshal's office with Raylan)

I think we'll see those loose ends tied up in the next few weeks.

If you couldn't figure out that Boyd went back to jail to go after Dickie, then you are terrible at TV watching. His little smirk at the end was enough to know that part.

Walton Goggins is great as always. The funny thing is that Timothy Olyphant could carry most shows the way he is acting right now, and the show only gets better because of the way those 2 interact. There is very natural chemistry between those two which leads to interactions that are pretty freaking sweet.

WOW....thanks for letting us in on the secret!!! ESPECIALLY since these shows are always what they seem and everything is right out there for us to see with ZERO twists and turns!

Man I'm glad I came to this thread! I mean....that preview at the beginning where Raylan said he had to borrow Dickie for a while before Boyd could kill him....and then Boyd wanting Dickie back in the Marshalls conference room....and then Boyd smirking when he walked by Dickie in jail... NONE of that was very clear to me on what it meant. Not to mention that now that you've pointed that out, combined with my understanding that the really good shows on TV put twists and turns in them to keep their audience on edge makes me think that it COULD be possible that Boyd has something else in mind for Dickie. Like...oh...I don't know...."Hey Dickie, you're going to do the following three things for me to repay your debt for shooting Ava or I'm going to kill you in prison in a very violent and prison rape kind of way."

Nope...that couldn't be it. Boyd Crowder isn't that smart. And surely he couldn't have had Dickie killed in prison without getting himself thrown in prison to do it....could he?

sounds like you and I have the same taste in tv shows.

and only Deadwood can make a word like "********er" sound poetic.
