What was the trick the fat guy used earlier in the season to actually keep the gun unloaded for the Russian roulette? I assume raylan used the same trick.

Wow, this show is fantastic. Not only is the dialog excellent (It's a piggy bank!) but the little things that are done to give it an extra dose of awesomeness - like Quarrels on his knees reaching for his arm and Raylan pulling it away from him. Who thinks of something like that?!?

Duffy's reaction to the Harlan Roulette was awesome. And I agree about the arm where Rayland refuses to give it to him. Great stuff.

So is Quarles dead or will he be back?

seemed like they played him as dying...too much blood loss (can't imagine you'd be able to get an ambulance into Noble's Hollow very quickly).

Well it’s kind of addressed in the EW post mortem with the Exec Producer. Not sure if he’s dead, but sounds like he’s not going to be in the show anymore which was actually what I was wondering.

I assume from the blood pool, Quarles is dead.
Steven Heth, our post-producer, really rode that one right to the end: What’s the pool of blood gonna look like? How dark? Well, he may not be dead. Our feeling was that you could slap a tourniquet on that and probably stop him from bleeding out. But certainly as a presence in the show [he's gone]. Although, if he were to kill Winona but frame Raylan, and Raylan had to clear his name and he was after a one-armed man… no, wait a second. That’s season 11, when we get desperate.

ETA: I should probably say there are some potential spoilers about future seasons in that article.

loved the plot hole of Gary's gun wrapped up with Quarles when he took it out of Raylan's back pocket.

It took me an hour after the end of the show for me to finally realize, "Oh that was the gun that Raylan had in his back pocket where he said, 'You can keep that one.'" Nice.

I think Quarrels is dead. Too many plot holes at the end if he weren't. That was a great ending when Raylan pieced it together that Arlo was willing to shoot him for Boyd. Can't wait for next season when Eva becomes the next Harlan villian.

Isn't Ava already a criminal/villain? I mean, she definitely turned a corner there towards the end of this season. I am assuming that it will still be Boyd/Ava and whoever joins their crew along with Limehouse (so glad they didn't kill him off). And I guess they will bring in someone new as they have the past 2 seasons to be the next main antagonist.

Man, what an amazing show! Wonderful way to wrap up an absolutely stellar season of TV.

ava pretty much became one this season (and maybe some of last season...can't remember), but she transitioned from someone who was involved in some non-violent criminal activities (at least she wasn't doing it) to being the one committing the violence. to me, there's a difference there, kind of in the same way that walt does in breaking bad.

I am curious to see what happens with Limehouse and his crew, to start the next season.

Will they move on from him as a main character, or will there be an investigation involving him? I mean, they have him hiding half a million in a pig, one of his guys shooting Quarles, and Limehouse chopping off his arm. Kinda tough to just move on from that because Quarles is dead. You'd think they'd have to address some of that going forward.

Also, the beef between Boyd and Limehouse just got a bit bigger with Limehouse refusing to do business with him any longer, and trying to set Boyd up. I wouldnt think the writers would just ignore that.

Raylan seems to be the type to ignore the money and claim they killed Quarles out of self defense for Limehouse helping him out. He did say that giving up the money to keep Quarles from killing him would pretty much get the Marshall's off his back going forward.

Don't forget that before Raylan realized that Arlo was trying to shoot him and not the State Trooper, that Boyd told him that Arlo was a father to him and that Arlo is his family.

I really hope Raylan and Wynona stay together because she is all kinds of sexy but that bartender ain't bad either.

Except that one time when she murdered her husband.

Admittedly I'm just now finishing up Season 2 of Breaking Bad -- but I really cannot see how anyone doesn't think Justified is the best show on television.

There hasn't been a show that has been above average episode, after episode, after episode since The Shield.

Game of Thrones may displace it, but it's just now starting Season 2 so it could still go off the tracks (Nip/Tuck had a great first season, but eventually went off the rails).

This show is SO FREAKING GOOD! It is maybe my favorite, along with Breaking Bad and The Killing. If anyone has Showtime, Homeland is also great. Lots of good shows these days.

One part I loved is when Raylan goes to Quarles and as he's walking towards him, Quarles says, "you wouldn't happen to have any ibuprofen on you, would you"? Raylan just looks at him, and Quarles says something like, "yeah, nevermind".

Just gotta say it again, this show is awesome.

season 3 and 4 are the best seasons of breaking bad.

forgot about that one, though self defense shooting is very different than roughing up a prostitute because she might have information you need to save your boyfriend from jail. we can agree on that, no?

Lol. Corrine Mackey sighting in the season finale. Same ole crying woman that she was in the last 3 seasons of The Shield.
