I really enjoyed the scene at the trailer with Eva and Rayland and also the scene with Boyd and Eva at Lymehouse's restaurant.

I laughed out loud when Rayland came into the bar, and Boyd proposed a toast....to which Rayland calls him out for selling drugs at his Aunts place, and Boyd says, 'I'm going to step out back and have a word with my associate, remember....we're on the honor system here'

this x100. Again, the interaction b/t Boyd and Raylan is phenomenal and what makes the show so awesome. I loved Raylan's "****kicker on ****kicker crime" quip.

America's destiny is not of our own choosing. We did not seek nor did we provoke an assault on our freedom and our way of life. We did not expect nor did we invite a confrontation with evil. Yet the true measure of a people's strength is how they rise to master that moment when it does arrive.

I was working while the show was on last night, so I missed the scene with Limehouse near the end when he was holding the meat cleaver, and then I deleted it before I remembered to go back and rewatch.

Someone give me a 2 min synopsis of what is going on so far...

anyone?

MW-

We find out that one of Limehouse's guys was responsible for the opening scene (the doctor and hooker being shot, and the drugs being stolen). He'd hired Quarles guys to do it.

Limehouse was ticked off, and decided not to kill him (yet), but make him clean up the mess first, because he didnt want anything to point their way.

Two things.

Was Quarles torturing that guy tied to the bed or was it something else? The look on his face before he went into the room was way creepy.

Did Limehouse's man inform Quarles's men where Boyd's operation was? That is the only thing I can see as his involvement. It was clearly Quarles's men doing the killing. Unless they were working on their own (maybe with Limehouse's guy).

He was torturing the guy on the bed. He walked in there with brass knuckles and was beating him. I have no clue who the guy on the bed is though

Favorite scene of the night. Followed closely by Raylan and Ava in the trailer and the back and forth between the pimp.

Ok...couple of questions/thoughts:

1. Quarles was messing with a pair of brass knuckles while he was talking to Wynn prior to the "screaming in the bedroom scene". So that leads me to believe he was beating the hell out of that guy....not "something else" that was referred to in an above post. Wynn's face when he was hearing that was hilarious/disturbing.

2. Did I miss how Limehouse figured out that his associate was the one that set up the Oxy raid? He conceded that he had done it, but I didn't catch how Limehouse figured it out.

3. Nice move by Boyd to hesitate on hitting Quarles. Dude is freakin' nails as a bad guy.

Random prediction....one of the marshalls or Winona dies this season, (sniper, Walt, African American girl). Helen died last season, but she's been the only steady character that kicked the bucket in 3 seasons of shoot 'em up. I think Arlo makes it...not sure why...but I do.

this was my initial thought, so this will be my prediction too:

it will be Gary, and he's being used to give information about Raylan that Quarles can use and/or be used as a hostage if/when war breaks out.

I don't think it would be Gary. We saw the guy on the bed the first time awhile ago. It was this episode that quarles told Wynn to get info on raylan.

I think it's just a sex slave that he does some sick stuff to when he rapes him. It's just to show us how messed up a guy quarles is.

Gary is a good guess. Never considered that.

You didnt miss anything. Somehow Limehouse found out, and we found out by that conversation.

Are there really such things as these oxy "clinics?"
Slurm
How long do you want to ignore this user?
It looked to me like quarles was playing with a cigar cutter, not brass knuckles.. which leads me to believe he went there to do something besides beat him up

Can somebody remind me who the old guy that ran off with the bank money is?

Old dude in Mexico was the basement worker who manned the evidence locker.

"Are there really such things as these oxy "clinics?""

Just google "Florida pain clinics".....lots of articles on them.

Maybe it was a cigar cutter. I could have sworn I clearly saw brass knuckles on his hand when he went in there Also there was clearly noises that sounded like he was punching him.

Because he’s Limehouse….and Limehouse knows.

Does it seem like Arlo is losing it a bit. His scene with Raylan seemed liked he was living in the past a bit.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Arlo looked like a guy with PTSD or dimentia. He was not very coherent and was wearing no pants, which is a pretty common movie/tv apparatus for people going crazy. Should be interesting when Winn Duffy and Quarles go find him and see that he is acting like a senile geriatric
Smokedraw01
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Arlo is losing it. He referred to Raylan running off to tell Helen and even made a point to call him kid or something like that. Alzheimers or dementia are setting in.

Is it just me or was Raylan's accent a little over the top this episode?

I caught when he made the comment about Raylan running off to tell Helen, but it didn't click until now. Sounds like they're building the background for a plot arc with Arlo losing his mind.

Two other comments worth mentioning:

1. It never dawned on me in the season opener that Winona might have been leaving Raylan when the State Police flagged her down to tell her he'd been shot. I had just assumed she was driving to work or something like that.

2. Quarles' belief that Raylan is dirty and in Boyd's pocket is an interesting development for the future. I love that even Wyn Duffie, scummy as he is, is a little freaked out by Quarles.
Bamatab

I noticed in the preview for next week's episode, it appears that it is Arlo that is getting shot (it almost appears it is by Limehouse's men, and not Quarles' men).

In the preview he's getting pistol whipped by the guy that Limehouse threatened at the end of last weeks episode.

Arlo's crazy factor might makes things interesting this season.

yea that caught me by surprise too. He was supposed to be the crazy torture freak in the 1st season.

think you are right, we saw him before quarles ever had a run in with raylan and possibly before he ever knew who he was. One website said it was the owner of the home that quarles is commandeering.

I believe winona even made comments in the season 2 finale about how she might not be there when he gets back, in reply to raylan going to help the little girl at mags house.

Just glad Im not the only one who didnt see it coming.

Okay, anyone else catch this bit of weirdness?

-When Wynn walked up on Quarles sitting on the front porch, did anyone notice about six steps behind him was a paramedic who, without saying a word or anyone acknowledging him, walked right in through the front door of Quarles' house?

F-ing weird!

And Limehouse is slowly and steadily becoming the most interesting character on the show. His feelings that he and his "group" have plenty enough power and don't need to get involved with Boyd and Quarles because that would start a race war his people won't win pretty damn saavy. And Williamson (whom I've never seen portray a bad guy before) is a damn good actor in this role.

And best line? "Well, sh*t. I didn't bring a knife."

I did not.

Though I did notice that half of Quarles' house is being made into what looks like a doctors office or clinic of some sort.

AgDC

I saw that guy but didn't necessarily peg him as a paramedic. I did notice the orange cooler he was carriying. It looked like the ones they use to transplant organs. Or maybe some medications.

I agree. Seems like Limehouse has a gift for soliloquies in a Boyd Crowder-type way, only more philosophical and with the fascinating background of 15 generations of his people living in the holler their own way.

Yeah I noticed the "paramedic" guy too.

Thought at first that maybe he was the guy that Quarles had tied to the bed (the Quarles is into some weird stuff theory...the bed guy and the guy walking in both had brown hair, etc.), but I'm wondering if he's just one of Quarles henchmen and he was working on the house (carrying a toolbox) or something.

Seemed really random....but the writers are throwing in more random things this year and leaving us guessing or waiting to figure stuff out. Maybe it's my imagination, but in seasons past, they wouldn't have left the guy on the bed go unidentified for this long....and they would have spelled out what happened last week between the black guy that went behind Limehouse's back and the Oxy hitmen. This season, they're letting Limehouse allude to things he knows, leaving a bit of mystery in the show at times.

I like it that way....gets more conversations started.

I took the paramedic guy scene as a guy that is coming into patch up the tied to the bed guy after he gets beat up each time.

Great episode. The writing, the acting, teheran little things (paramedic for example)...one of the top shows on TV.

I've figured it out...

The guy tied to the bed is actually Quarles.

The guy we've been led to believe is Quarles, is actually an agent with the CIA. They're working to bring down an international crime ring linking the Canadian and Dixie mafias together....

Just kidding, I don't think that's the case at all, but was thinking how that would be reasonable at FX. Only 24 hours until another episode...

You say that in jest, but I can't quite figure the story with Quarles. When he first showed up to Frankfort and demanded repayment from Arnett, he acted as if he was just a middleman for the Detroit mafia who was sent to relay the message. As his character further develops, though, I get the impression that he's far more than just a middleman.
