Thought this was obvious as soon as Boyd got in the otherwise pointless fight with Raylan in the office. Their conversation mentioned that Dickie was in jail, Boyd thought Raylan owed him Dickie back, Raylan says he couldn't deliver him to be murdered, and SURPRISE Boyd immediately starts a fight that was going to get him thrown into jail. With how that conversation went, I had the impression that Raylan had a pretty good idea as to why Boyd was there. Raylan can be a rube at times about some things, but I don't think that big of one. When Boyd inevitably ****s up Dickie, I think we'll find it was no surprise to Raylan.

Raylan set the meeting with Boyd up...he asked him to come to the Marshall's office.

Yes, Raylan asked Boyd to come talk about all of the drugs that were suddenly missing.

Boyd attacked him for not apologizing to him for not killing Dickie.

Boyd is far to smart to start a fight in the Marshall's office for no reason other than to get thrown in jail.

I would even go further and say that Raylan went along with it...maybe even brought him there to help set that trip to prison up...they are old friends and Boyd did save his life...

This show is simply outstanding, definitely on par with Breaking Bad and Mad Men.

And Deadwood--obligatory moment of silence, please.

Finally joining the party. Tore through the first 2 seasons the past couple of weeks, now just need to watch the 2 eps from this season. Don't know that I would have made it through the first if I didn't know the second got better as it was nothing special. The second season was as good as advertised though.

OK, so I was wrong...Raylan was not in on Boyd getting to Dickie. Great second Ep....

Any thoughts to where he fits in the criminal hierarchy? Seems like he might be the chalky white of harlan county.

The scene with art and the informant made me think...we havent really seen much depth with any of the other deputies instead of rachel (last season when she had to shoot her brother). At some point this season im thinking art, tim, or rachel is going to get in some trouble.

I think Bubba is going to be a great bad guy. Almost appears a modern version of Bill the Butcher from Gangs of New York.

Yes season 2 is on DVD already.

Good setup episode.

Continues to remind me of a one season show called Boomtown. Great show. The cast of boomtown was in Band of Brothers, showed up in The Shield some, and now in Justified. Too smart for the average American dolt and only lasted a season. Shame.

Anyway, M Washington is going to be a bad man.

One awesome thing about this show is the attention to detail. The Asst Director chick. One scene: red blouse. Next season: black jacket. Screw up? Nope. While Rylan talked to Winona, you could see her putting on her jacket. And Limehouse's thug? Scarred hand, implying he studied under the hand of Limehouse before he learned that pain wasn't the only way.

Outstanding.

Justified exec producer Graham Yost was a writer on Boomtown. Boomtown too. He said in a Kentucky.com article a few weeks ago that he brought Neil McDonough in as a villain because he worked so well on Boomtown.

Good episode, though the ending was weird. I hate shows that just introduce people and expect that after an entire season, we have no clue who they are.

The ex is still soooooo much hotter than Carla Gugino.

I'm more partial to Carla than Ava, and that has everything to do with Carla in Sin City

Natalie Zea still takes the cake.

almost forgot that carla gugino was also in californication too (last season) and looked better than ever. She definitely gets my vote.

Wow this episode was awesome. From the harlan roulette scene to the how fast will those bullets head back at you. Then raylon taking a picture at the end. Bad ass
