Just watched the preview. Heck yeah, this season is going to be awesome. Vince growing a beard and hiding on a beach, Eric and Ari possibly throwing down, Turtle threatening to get a job? I can't wait.

So you're saying that an actor that's become more rich & famous over the course of the series has gotten to be more a d-bag? NO WAI!

thats not sad at all, id rather watch a repeat of entourage any day over an A&M football game. And i think Drama does make the A list this season, or so the preview hints at.

In a fourth season that often felt like one long low point, "Entourage" went even lower twice.
The first bottoming-out came in an episode where driver/parasite Turtle (Jerry Ferrara) got pulled over, while holding a large quantity of pot, by the one cop in L.A. who didn't seem to care that Turtle was best pals with movie star Vincent Chase. After a lot of Turtle's pleading, the officer agreed not to arrest him so long as he watched Turtle throw his drugs down a sewer drain. Turtle did as he was told, the cop sped away -- and then Turtle fished out the weed, which he had cleverly stashed so it wouldn't fall.

The second came when Vince (Adrian Grenier) had problems getting a flight to the Cannes Film Festival. After scrambling for most of the episode and even turning down a ride in director Sydney Pollack's private jet because there wasn't room for Turtle, Vince was saved at the very last minute by Kanye West and his even bigger private plane.

Both scenes symbolized what a lazy, unfunny mess "Entourage" had become. While it was never a great show, or maybe even a good one, it was at least a passable light entertainment for a while. But the show's fantasy camp mentality and insistence that Vince's behavior would never have any consequences eventually became grating. If you tell your audience over and over that everything will work out just fine in the end -- often with Vince and company doing absolutely nothing to earn their latest happy ending -- it sucks all the comic and dramatic tension from the show and turns it into a slightly scripted episode of "Cribs."

quote:
But the first four episodes of the new season are more interesting -- and, on occasion, funnier -- than everything the show did last year combined. If nothing else, it finally gives Emmy winner Jeremy Piven -- who was stranded for most of last season in lame marital storylines -- something juicy to play as Vince's agent Ari, who reaches new levels of rage as he tries to bring his biggest client back from the dead. (Almost as good as watching Ari scramble: watching Ari engage a rival agent in a nasty prank war.)

It's still not more than disposable fluff, and I expect Vince to get his stardom back by season's end, but by making his career a metaphor for what the show had become, "Entourage" for the first time is more entertaining than Vince's life must be.

wasnt it drama that got pulled over with the prescription bottle full of medipot and sat it on the ledge only to pick it up after the cop leaves? it was the episode where he got the prescription just to buy the trucker hat and later tried to impress the 5 towns crew by ripping the bong but gets too high and freaks out.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
Nope, different ep. Turtle has the pot, and the 3 girls in the Escalade he is taking home to Vince and Drama. One of them is incredibly *****y, and of course Turtle gets stuck with her. Drama would have been fine with the pot because he had the prescription. Turtle did not. I only remember this because I tore through the entire 4th season in one day last week.

Point is, last season was the weakest so far, which we can all admit. This season looks to step it back up.

Arrested Dev, The Office, 30 Rock = Great.

Sunny, Scrubs, HIMYM = Good.

Entourage= below that tier, so I think he's got it right.

quote:
Olympic swimming champion Michael Phelps has been offered a recurring role on HBO's hit "Entourage" after he impressed the cast and crew with a recent cameo appearance.

The eight-time gold medal winner landed a role on the series when he happened to walk by the New York City set and producers offered him a part, as himself, in a scene with actor Kevin Connolly.

And Connolly's co-star's are eager to get Phelps back in front of the camera.

"Aquaman's back!!" Great ending.

I still don't understand how Vince and Ari got played? Could someone explain.
Did they just use Vince to scare the other actor into playing the role in "High Tide"

They were using Vince to drive down Emile Hirsch's asking price, I believe. They definitely wanted Emile, but took a meeting with Vince to show they had other options.

Not a great one, but I'm glad it's back. I'm not sure the E story line is going to be interesting, though.
