Yeah, E didn't really swing against it until he actually saw that Billy had totally effed it up - too late. He might have been able to save their investment, but in the end, it would have had the same long-term result.

I had to do a double-take after seeing the credits and rolled back the show with my DVR to the scene when E meets the script writers.

The brothers were played by Giovani Ribisi and Lukas Haas.

I'm looking forward to this subplot now.

E didnt put in the terrible performance in Medellin...that was all Vince.

Many a movie has been reviewed as "terrible, but with good performances". Medellin was not one of those.

I'm telling ya - the brothers are going to go Overnight on everybody. I look forward to Ari tearing them a new *******

I recognized Giovanni, but not Lukas Haas. Last thing I saw him in was Boys in 1996.

Good episode. Drama making an ass out of himself with his angry voicemails, and then screwing up his relationship, was classic. I loved Ari's freaking out over Vince coming to see him and his solution to sneaking out of the screening he was in.

I wonder if we'll get any appearances by Walsh, or at least find out what happened to him in the wake of the "Hindenburg of a screening."

It sure is starting out slow. So far I'm enjoying True Blood more than Entourage.

entourage, despite having jumped the shark (as I've indicated above), is still better than true blood.

Am I the only one that thinks Justine Chapin is much hotter now than she was in her prior appearances on the show? I guess the dark hair works better for Leighton Meester than the blonde. Whatever it is, she needs to keep it up.

Lloyd (panicy): He’s here, he is here, Vince is here!
Ari: What are you, speedballing fairy dust? Go out there and greet him like a man

That episode sucked. The scene with Ari slapping Davies was ridiculous. No reason that Davies would react the way he did given his antics up until that point.

Davies is a p and Ari knew it.

That is false. Davies is Ari's ***** and Ari knows it. (Like Rudy said)

Good episode. For some reason I thought this was hilarious:

"Who wants some Johnnie Blue?"

"Johnny does."

You need to explain that statement, because I thought it made perfect sense. Everything Davies had pulled on Ari up to that point had been done from a comfortable distance. When confronted man to man, being a "p", he had no recourse but to take it.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'll explain it for him.
He is a hyper aggressive personality in a hyper aggressive field who will do anything to screw over other people and get ahead. He had no problem putting his life at risk in the street race (drove much more aggressively than Ari) and he is about 4 inches taller with a reasonable chance to hold his own.
With his entire office watching and his rep on the line he would have been better off fighting and getting his ass kicked than looking like a complete punk.
I was watching it thinking "did Piven write this" because it served no purpose other than to make Ari look like a badass, which is pretty weak for the primary sub-plot of the episode.

C&S. Thanks. Explained it better than I could have. Davies would not back down SO EASILY after doing what he did up to that point. It was just a weird scene.

This subplot was just another in a long line of subplots where within a single episode a character is taken to the brink and then somehow, in the blink of an eye, everything is just fine. Another example that comes to mind is the Dennis Hopper episode where Vince "loses" a couple hundred grand betting on games and then miraculously some guy comes in and admits he forgot to place the bets Vince just lost. Lame.

Not if he would've gotten his ass kicked . . . which is what he knew would have happened.

I thought it was a great scene. There are people who "act as if" and there are people who are. Ari is what he is, Davie wants to be something he's not. Driving fast down a street in a car with airbags and your seatbelt on isn't the same thing as having a man slap you in the face and tell you he's going to kick your ass. You should've learned that in high school.

So, I'm thinking Vince is going to blow up on E when he finds out they are turning that script into a studio movie.

How long do you want to ignore this user?
He'd be wrong to do so. Vince said, "We're going to listen to Ari this time." He agreed with Ari that the firefighter script was a bad idea. E did everything but beg Ari to look at the script, and all he got was abuse for doing so.

This will be a good "I told you so" moment for E if the script gets picked up by a studio.

The show is great because of ari and his little gay buddy. It is cool to live with you friends and smoke weed everyday but why do we continue to like vince when he doesnt seem to offer any real talent? The show is based on mark walhberg which is pretty interesting, but there is ZERO comparrisons between the two charachters. I like the episode where Ari keeps the one twin that works for him over the other one because he made him more money even though his brother had sex with his wife

Snow Monkey nailed it.

I think it was an interesting social commentary. We've gotten to a point in our society where there's little or no downside to rude, poor behavior. Both social and physical annonimity has fostered irresponsible conduct to the point that not only is it protected, it's almost encouraged. Good manners and "doing the right thing" used to be a positive bi-product of the fear of getting your ass kicked if you stepped out of line. Not so today. (reference internet tough-guys)

Mr. Davies enjoyed protection at every turn: ensconced in his own car, then by his phone in ordering the strippers, then by his computer in posting the pic of Ms. Gold, and finally by what he thought were the friendly confines of his office. Ari peeled those layers away and when he got to the true Davies core, there was nothing but a p.

Actually, I think the writers, knowing the show is in its probable twilight, are really working on rounding out the characters for their culmination. We've seen it in Vince, particlularly in the last two episodes. This was part of Ari's...we saw he wasn't all talk; when it came to something that really mattered to him, he walked the walk.

I know some people think the show has already "jumped the shark" and peaked during season four. I don't know if it is quite as bad as that, but at this point I definately like season four over what I've seen from five.

The Davie's ***** slap (and that whole subplot in general) seemed pretty far fetched and just full of shock value. Although the $100 with a bag of feces was pretty funny. The redeeming part of the eppisode was definately the birthday party and the little sweet sixteen. Whereas the Davies scenes seemed forced, the party felt somewhat natural.

I tend to be cynical by nature, especially with shows I like. I felt South Park took a turn for the worse around season 10. But I am just hoping s5 can finish strong. The first few eppisodes have been OK, but nothing memorable.

Edited for spelling. and to add:

Season 5 so far has been less about the entourage and more about individual characters with individual story lines. Ari and Davies, E and this writers, Vince looking for work. There has been very little to tie the characters together besides being on screne together. I know the writers have said they have plans for all the characters. But the unity of the show isn't quite the same as in the past, and I think thats what is making season 5 feel so wierd.

This latest episode definately had a different vibe to it - I think part of the reason is that it was shot differently....more jerky? I can't explain it. The racing scene felt out of place.

It was classic Drama when he ralphed on the sweet 16 cake. I was watching with headphones on while my wife was asleep and woke her up with an involuntary laugh.

I completely disagree. Ari is a great side character, but I don't like the episodes that focus more on him. I think his fast talking one liners work in small amounts, but when that's the whole episode I think it gets old.

As for the episode, I didn't think it was great, except for the final party scene. As stated above, that was vintage Drama. I think the writers are going to get upset that E is allowing their movie to get completely rewritten.
