I still had 4 possibilities remaining after 2 guesses.
They were only isolatable in non-commutative pairs, so I had a
1 in 4 chance for a 3
2 in 4 chance for a 4 (isolated pair or 1st guess from other pair)
1 in 4 chance for a 5
or I could burn a guess for a certain 4.
I noticed that 1 of the possibilities was the commutative form of a previous solution, so I figured it would be unlikely this early, so I flipped a coin and picked one from the remaining pair and got a lucky 3.
I switched to a coin flip since I had a string of missing 50-50's.

3. My second guess was 25+43=68, which made me pause for some juvenile humor.

I got the routine 3.
I clicked on the Add-Vent game that seems like it has a game for the 25 days until "Chrismaths".
I just picked 1 for December 1st, but you may be able to pick others.
The rules supposedly allow for exponents(^), factorials(!), and decimals(.).,
My game had 6 spaces and they started it with the word BAUBLE which translated to something like 647618
I got a 3 there as well.
Somebody pick something besides Day 1 and see if you get a different puzzle.
