You could use
90/6-7=8
to cover 2 more ops, the rest of the digits, and a shift in the = position.

I can usually hit 3's with my standard two opening lines hitting all numbers and ops. I'll deviate on the 2nd guess when I can nail down the op(s), positioning, and a few digits.

I got it in 4 tonight after a few glasses of wine. The wife passed out so I'm nerdling it up. I do hate it when you have the basic equation but there are combinations of numbers you could interchange that add a guess or two.

Just do a reply with the double quotes and cut (Ctrl-C) and paste (Ctrl-V) to grab a previous spoiler tags and then modify it.

Not working for me right now either.

8+6*6=44
Damnit I knew that was too many 4s in the second guess and I should have gone the 6*6 route.

Here's my nerdle distribution so far. I still can't believe that I missed it once recently. My 3s are catching back up my 4s and my 2s are still outpacing my 5s, so I feel pretty good.
