My kid is into avionics right now. She's making me watch CNN to pay attention to this. She's already speculating that it's engine failure because of the engine type of this plane.
Mind you...she's 11.

This thread is about a missing jet. I hope the jet and its passengers are ok and found soon. T&P to the worrying family members right now.
Either (1) a major electrical problem or (2) a MAJOR disaster on board, so sudden that they couldn't even get off a mayday.

Good Lord I have always not liked traveling via air. I realize that, obviously, there is a higher chance of one getting into a car accident compared to an airline accident. However, a plane going down, knowing that there is nothing that can be done. Knowing that you will die; that is ****ing scary.

I don' believe so. In my opinion, the plane crashed and most, if not all, of the passengers died. I pray that I am wrong.

99.9% chance you are correct. There had to be something sudden and horrific occur for there to be no time for any mayday ...

Not much to talk about and literally nothing to show...I'm sure CNN and MSNBC will break immediately to the press conference when it starts. Multiple hours of "yup, the plane is still missing and it probably crashed" while showing a stock photo of a 777 isn't exactly riveting.

Cnn has been terrible since the late 80's, they used to be fairly respectable.
