Yep, thanks for starting!

Biggest things to watch...

Does an off-season give the big teams time to find an edge in the new car

And obviously...will there be safety improvement to the car

Frankie Muniz is going to document his NASCAR aspirations with a docuseries.

The former Malcolm in the Middle and Agent Cody Banks star has teamed with NEO Studios to produce an all-access doc that will chronicle his lifelong dream of racing in a NASCAR series.

Frankie in the Fastlane (working title) will follow the actor-turned-driver as he looks to prove himself against the world's best stock car racers in the NASCAR-owned ARCA Menards Series. The project will also track him as he balances his pro career with being a new father and husband while contending with public perception and media scrutiny. The project, which has yet to be shopped to potential networks/streamers, will showcase Muniz's life on and off the track and include interviews with him and his family and friends.

Some team previews up at NASAR.com

https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2023/01/23/2023-season-preview-rick-ware-racing-live-fast-non-charters-nascar/
Quote:

RICK WARE RACING

Manufacturer: Ford
Engine: Roush-Yates
Driver-crew chief pairings: Cody Ware-Billy Plourde (No. 51), TBD (No. 15)

Drivers:

Cody Ware, No. 51
Experience: Second full-time season in NASCAR Cup Series
2022 stats: 32nd in final standings, one top 10
2023 championship odds (BetMGM): N/A

TBD, Rick Ware Racing, No. 15

Team/driver(s) outlook:
A collective effort from two combined entries and seven drivers in 2022 totaled out to three top-10 finishes, headlined by David Ragan's two and Cody Ware's one. As such, 2023 will revolve around improving the margins and working with new equipment. A technical alliance with Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing beginning this year will look to propel the program to newer heights. Although the driver of the No. 15 entry has yet to be fully decided, the two-car operation will look to work through these new changes in the hopes of finding more consistency on the track.

LIVE FAST MOTORSPORTS

Manufacturer: Chevrolet
Engine: ECR Engines
Driver-crew chief pairings: Multiple-David Ingram

Drivers:

BJ McLeod, No. 78
Experience: Eighth part-time season in NASCAR Cup Series
2022 stats: 29 starts, one top 10
2023 championship odds (BetMGM): 1,000-1

Josh Bilicki, No. 78
Experience: Seventh part-time season in NASCAR Cup Series
2022 stats: 16 starts; zero top 10s

Team/driver(s) outlook:
One defining word could emphasize Live Fast Motorsports in 2023: Change. David Ingram's entry atop the pit box will be one particular giveaway. Another comes in the form of a manufacturer switch. In what will be its third year at the full-time Cup level, the team will transition from Ford to Chevrolet. After 2022 results included one top-10 finish (a career-best seventh for McLeod in August at Daytona), the team will look to continue the momentum. When combining the efforts between McLeod, Bilicki and other potential drivers depending on sponsorship, this change should produce positive fruit.

BEARD MOTORSPORTS

Manufacturer: Chevrolet
Engine: ECR Engines
Driver-crew chief pairings: Austin Hill-Darren Shaw (No. 62)

Drivers:

Austin Hill, No. 62
Experience: First part-time season in NASCAR Cup Series
2022 stats: 1 start

Team/driver(s) outlook:
An 18th-place finish at Michigan International Speedway last year is the only piece of Hill's resume he could say was Cup-related. Despite only holding one Cup race under his belt heading into 2023, the 28-year-old will have the opportunity to add to it with a six-race Cup stint. In addition to having to race their way into a Daytona 500 starting spot, races on the team's docket include Talladega Superspeedway (April 23), Chicago Street Course (July 2), Michigan International Speedway (Aug. 26) and a second appearance at Talladega and Daytona (Aug. 26 and Oct. 1, respectively). With a blossoming driver behind the wheel in Hill who finished sixth in the NASCAR Xfinity Series points standings in his first full year in the circuit the team will look to make its 2023 expansion from four races to six a worthwhile one.

THE MONEY TEAM RACING

Manufacturer: Chevrolet
Engine: ECR Engines
Driver-crew chief pairings: N/A

2022 drivers:

Kaz Grala, No. 50
2022 stats: 3 starts

Conor Daly, No. 50
2022 stats: 1 start

Team/driver(s) outlook:
A limited 2022 schedule included appearances in the Daytona 500, where the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-led team took to the track and eventually finished 26th in the No. 50 Chevrolet. The team participated in four total races in 2022, and while the team's 2023 plans have yet to be decided, a similar schedule could help build the program further. Patience is key.

TEAM HEZEBERG

Manufacturer: Ford
Engine: N/A
Driver-crew chief pairings: N/A

2022 drivers:

Loris Hezemans, No. 27
2022 stats: 5 starts

Jacques Villeneuve, No. 27
2022 stats: 1 start

Team/driver(s) outlook:
Competing at the Daytona 500 and Circuit of The Americas were just a pair of highlights for the team and drivers collectively. Villeneuve even turned in his second-best finish in the Cup Series after his 22nd-place finish in last year's Daytona 500 (he finished 21st at Talladega in 2007). Although 2023 plans and decisions have yet to be decided, the team and racers could once again make an appearance at a host of high-profile races during the season.

NY RACING

Manufacturer: Chevrolet
Engine: ECR Engines
Driver-crew chief pairings: Greg Biffle-Jay Guy (No. 44)

2022 driver:

Greg Biffle, No. 44
2022 stats: 5 starts

Team/driver(s) outlook:
The 14-year Cup Series veteran (2003-16) in Biffle returned to the track in nostalgic fashion last season, racing at Daytona International Speedway in the Daytona 500 and Talladega, among a handful of additional races. Although the team's 2023 schedule has yet to be fully decided, Biffle is once again expected to return and could vie for another steady Cup performance or two.

MBM MOTORSPORTS

Manufacturer: Ford
Engine: MBM Motorsports
Driver-crew chief pairings: N/A

2022 drivers:

J.J. Yeley, No. 55
2022 stats: 19 starts (1 start for MBM)

Timmy Hill, No. 66
2022 stats: 0 starts (failed to qualify at Daytona 500)

Boris Said, No. 66
2022 stats: 1 start

Team/driver(s) outlook:
Although 2023 plans have yet to be revealed, MGM Motorsports has shown itself to be a mainstay in both the Xfinity and Cup Series. When speaking about the latter, the team turned in two total starts during the 2022 campaign (Circuit of The Americas and Talladega).

https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2023/01/24/season-preview-for-spire-motosports/
Quote:

SPIRE MOTORSPORTS
Manufacturer: Chevrolet
Engine: Hendrick Motorsports
Driver-crew chief pairings: Corey LaJoie-Ryan Sparks (No. 7), Ty Dillon-Kevin Bellicourt (No. 77)
Team outlook: Seeking its first win since 2019 (Justin Haley), Spire Motorsports has one big advantage this upcoming season that it has never had in its short history at the Cup Series level consistency. LaJoie returns for another season, freshly mirrored by Ty Dillon in the No. 77, a ride previously rotated through by a mix of drivers yearly. Having two full-time drivers with 402 premier series starts between them should have the team poised for a stronger performance this time around.
Each of the driver's finishes in last season's final points ranking is not necessarily indicative of where he was able to run most weeks. One of the downfalls was finishing races, 17 combined DNFs in 2022, with eight for LaJoie and nine for Dillon while driving for Legacy Motor Club (formerly Petty GMS).
If they can settle into their Next Gen Camaros a bit more this season, one or two trips to Victory Lane would not be out of the question. LaJoie nearly grabbed his first win a year ago by putting on a marvelous show in the Atlanta Motor Speedway summer race, and both drivers are entering this season with a lot to prove.

I'd love to see LaJoie in a better ride than Spire.

WOOD BROTHERS RACING

Manufacturer: Ford
Engine: Roush-Yates
Driver-crew chief pairings: Harrison Burton-Brian Wilson (No. 21)

Team outlook:
Having a rookie adapt to the Next Gen car on top of all the other nuances that come along with a driver's first year in Cup was never going to be easy for Wood Brothers Racing. Last year can be considered a mulligan for the decorated team while this upcoming season will be the true litmus test of where Wood Brothers stands among the rest. In a technical alliance with the defending championship organization over at Team Penske, expectations should be set higher for the No. 21 Ford team that has proven in recent years that it can deliver in NASCAR's premier series.

Quote:

JTG DAUGHERTY RACING

Manufacturer: Chevrolet
Engine: Hendrick Motorsports
Driver-crew chief pairings: Ricky Stenhouse-Mike Kelley (No. 47)

Team outlook: This will be the third year that JTG Daugherty will field just one car in the NASCAR Cup Series, again to be driven by veteran Ricky Stenhouse Jr., who appears to really have found a home with the organization, even if it isn't that successful overall. Without a second car to trade data with or an affiliation with a NASCAR Xfinity Series team, there's little the team can do to improve its lot in 2023. Stenhouse will have a new crew chief in veteran Mike Kelley, and they are not strangers to each other. They paired together for consecutive Xfinity Series championships in 2011 and 2012, and again in 2014 when Stenhouse recorded one top-five finish and five top 10s that season in the Cup Series with Kelley atop the pit box.

Quote:

FRONT ROW MOTORSPORTS

Manufacturer: Ford
Engine: Roush Yates
Driver-crew chief pairings: Michael McDowell-Travis Peterson (No. 34), Todd Gilliland-Ryan Bergenty (No. 38).

Team outlook: Front Row Motorsports has all the ingredients for success, and 2023 should be a better season than 2022. This will be the 19th season in the Cup Series for the organization. It has made the Cup playoffs just twice: Chris Buescher in 2016 (finished last in the 16-car field) and Michael McDowell in 2021 (also finished last in the 16-car field). The team especially McDowell has improved significantly over the last couple of years, particularly in 2022 when the man known as "Big Mac" recorded a career- and team-best 12 top-10 finishes. If the new driver-crew chief combos mesh well, there is no reason not to think that at least one if not both of the two FRM cars make the playoffs in 2023.

KAULIG RACING

Manufacturer: Chevrolet
Engine: ECR Engines
Driver-crew chief pairings: AJ Allmendinger-Matt Swiderski (No. 16), Justin Haley-Trent Owens (No. 31), Chandler Smith-TBD (No. 13)

Team outlook: A team with a reputation of consistency at the NASCAR Xfinity Series level has officially trickled over into the NASCAR Cup Series as a big-time player. After briefly hitting the Cup scene during the 2020 campaign, the team has since expanded to a full-time operation, with its first full entry coming in 2022 via the No. 31 Chevrolet piloted by Justin Haley (more on him below). 2023, however, will see the team field not one but two cars on a full-time basis with AJ Allmendinger's re-entry to the series as driver of the No. 16. A part-time entry via the Chandler Smith-piloted No. 13 will additionally look to make significant noise for the expanding team. With both Haley and Allmendinger already doused with experience and lessons learned from the Next Gen car's inaugural 2022 season, the pair should check off more boxes as they collectively look to help the team work its way up the standings.

RFK RACING
Manufacturer: Ford
Engine: Roush-Yates
Driver-crew chief pairings: Brad Keselowski-Matt McCall (No. 6), Chris Buescher-Scott Graves (No. 17)
Team outlook: After a historic move to partial ownership of formerly-named Roush Fenway Motorsports, Brad Keselowski helped usher newly-named RFK Racing into the Next Gen era with championship aspirations. Though the team started on a special note, sweeping the Duel races at Daytona International Speedway, it struggled with consistency through the early part of the season. However, patience paid off, and the organization started to find its stride toward the end of the season, highlighted by Chris Buescher's impressive victory in the Bristol Night Race.
That momentum should carry over to the 2023 season, with Keselowski aiming to find his way to Victory Lane again after only his second winless season in 13 full-time seasons. Though they are a two-car operation battling many strong three- and four-car teams, Keselowski and Buescher certainly have the prowess to each hang a crooked number in the win column. They rarely found any consistent speed at 1.5-mile tracks, but they should be among the short list of favorites at short tracks and even road courses a handful of times this season. Each of Buescher's three top-five finishes came at short ovals and road circuits, while Keselowski flashed a much-improved run with a fifth-place finish (his best finish of the season) at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Both should be well in contention for one of the 16 Cup Series Playoffs spots after missing the cut in 2022.

I want to say Jr took Kyle's spot on the Hendricks team, but I could be wrong.
