The reason the right side isn't set or the middles is a lack of confidence by the coaching staff for them to perform which is sad.

The only way they get set more is if they produce early in in the limited attempts they get. If you look at the stats it is clear what the game plan is from the staff. The problem I have is these are all players that were recruited by the staff. So either give them a chance to fail and spread out the offense more. The best game we played all season was against Kentucky and it was the most balanced attack statistically we had all season

Now that maybe because limited attempts make defenses focused on the pins in LL and Meuth but regardless she has the best hitting percentage in the SEC even if it drops even .050 the it is still better than anyone else including Meuth and when healthy Lednicky.

The system we play is 100% on the coaching staff either because that is the game plan or that is the roster they have created. Regardless we will be extremely lucky to hit .500 this season and out conference record is barely better than the football team.

I hated watching every play knowing it is going to two players 85% of the time. Even how good they are.

Totally agree Wicked Good Ag. Let these players get at least get a chance. Game planning certainly sucks by Staff it would appear as in-match moves or coaching doesn't seem to take place. A lot of talk but what's really said? That's the million dollar question?

Mia is finally getting her shot and heck is getting set and continues to have a hot hand! Good for her!!!

Middle blocker attacks open up right and OH sides which allow ALL of our outsides/right sides to have good night. Not great but GOOD complimentary role will win us a lot of matches!! Very difficult to watch the loyalty to a transfer setter who has less than a full season of rapport w a team Yeah Nisa is a step (or 2) slower but Jeesh give her a shot!!

But since it's senior night coming up Wednesday Vs LSU any player but upper class-women will strictly be an after thought. Yes get them in or heck even let them start but keep on short leash and don't be afraid to still make the change to allow us to win! We can honor them after the match not during when it doesn't give us the best chance for an upset!

BTW let's hope it's not a 5-set match cuz stats show LSU pretty good in those matches.

Not sure what happened to the team we saw beat Kentucky. There were girls flying around making great digs. Several hitters playing solidly. Entire team had an energy we haven't seen since.

The decision on Bird will tell me a lot about Ross Bjork. This a nearly dead program. We need to make an elite hire with a proven head coach.

Don't know if things have changed as this season has taken a nosedive, my understanding earlier in the year was that Bird should be safe after this season (thanks to the extension she got after Sweet 16). Obv, need to see improved results next year - she knows that too.

Haven't followed program long enough to say what should happen, just what I've heard.

Honestly Meauth is probably one of our worst defensive players and struggles receiving serves. Putting in a "defensive specialist" seemed like a good move. Unfortunately it didn't work.

But you have to look at that match as a whole. Meuth was having a great night passing. Killing it from the back row. Passing was holding up. Hogan hasn't played all night and then you throw her in at set point. Any smart coach would serve right at her, which they did

I would not say she is the worst defender but we did have Hogan as an option and if you don't need the offensive production from the back row it is a viable option if subs remain. We sub Brooke for Lexi when Lexi moved to the right with Logan injury. No question in that sub situation as Lexi isn't ready to pass/ defend from back row at this level.
We also have Fields be a serving sub for whichever middle the Libero doesn't serve for. We should have a couple of subs left and using one for Hogan isn't the issue just didn't work that one time.

We had it in hand in sets three and four and couldn't finish which has happened a lot recently even when Lednicky was on the court.

Surprised CiCi didn't get in the match her senior day. We were 4-11 now 4-12 in conference and didn't let her play. Know if she is injured I understand but she could have started game one or come in to mix it up in game two when nothing was working. If not injured she deserved better.

We did senior night at the end and honored Lauren Davis who medically retired, Karakasi and Allison Fields who have no more eligibility left

Destiny Cox
CiCi Heicht
Maddie Browser

All of these players still should have eligibility remaining if Cox was granted a medical redshirt
CiCi has a Covid Year still if she wanted and Maddie is a reshoot junior so still has at least one possibly two years with Covid.

Losing them will not change the direction of the program but Browser had a great hitting percentage this year

Hopefully we win out the last two matches and end on a positive streak but we cannot finish above .500 again this year. Corbellis only had that happen once. The last season when injuries pretty much caused major havoc and played the toughest schedule overall in the country

Question for the volleyball experts that were at the match last night. I noticed repeated 'misses' on swings last night by Bowser, almost swings and misses a few times. Seemed she and the setter were just way 'off', or their rhythm was messed up. Was there something else going on or was that the issue. I figured it was Bowser but then happened a couple of times with others so maybe it was bad sets?

Curious to hear from the experts.

This wasn't just an issue last night. It is a consistent problem for us.

I don't remember numerous times but I remember one with Cos rather than Browser. And the lack of middle swings due to game plan could have something to do with that. We had 100 swings from our two outsides in a four set match. That isn't a balanced offense at all and that has to be the game plan since all we did was replace Lednicky with another attacker for the combo with Meuth.
