We didn't run out of subs, we ran out of DS options. Not sure why Hogan was taken out. Ledinecky injured her ankle and still played. She still played well. If we had just a handful of more wins, she would probably be SEC freshmen of the year. Wouldn't be surprised if she is all sec first team.

Reading the box score looks like we ran out of subs or had one left which you dont want to use if you cant get the front row player in

she doesnt have the hitting percentage to be on the All SEC team

she will make Freshman All SEC but not FOY

No, but considering the amount of swings she takes, 6 rotation right side. She has great numbers. Averaging over 2 digs per set as well. Her defense has really improved as well. On a better team, these are all American numbers. Even Meauth is putting up good numbers for high recognition. She has good numbers minus hitting percentage. But it isn't a terrible hitting percentage. She's hitting higher than one of our middles.

. She has good numbers. KPS is great but a ton of swings to get that because she is hitting .218. I don't see that getting her all SEC at all.
She will only get better by minimizing errors and working in a more lethal serve or at least more consistently aggressive. She should improve her blocking but a lot of that is they are woefully off on some of the opponent swings in creating a solid block to take away zones or to try to end the point.

I think we are somewhat on the same page. Look at 2019 SEC freshmen of the year, Kacie Evans. Hit .224 on the season, not too far off from Ledinecky. The only difference here is the win column. On paper, Ledinecky has better overall stats than 2019 Evans. More digs, kills, points, etc. Georgia finished the year 20-10.

I looked at a couple of old press releases and not many on all freshman team and no freshman of the year so i think it is a lock she makes that team

with 18 spots on all SEC which i was surprised she and Meuth have a shot. If it was 10 or so on the team i would have said no because team erformance matters but with 18 they do. I still think our record only gets us one and that in mind would be Meuth with Lednicky getting all frosh honors but who knows.

Also Maddie Browser is leading the league in hitting percentage at this time

I think Lednicky's numbers are skewed a bit as far as efficiency %. She's being asked to take a big load which she can handle but she gets a lot of trash sets as a result of it. ..sets that you aren't possibly going to be able to get a kill off of but counts as an attack.

True but she also has quite a few errors but that is more because both she and Meuth are terminal when they hit. Usually it is for the end of point if in system. I think Lednicky gets more decent sets then actually our OH2 whoever that is does.

Yeah and I could be totally wrong. Just a feeling I get sometimes watching that some out of system sets would normally go to the OH on another team goes to Opp/RH instead.

Also, I get the impression that sets to Lednicky while she's in the backrow seems to not be very consistent at all over the course of the season. Seems she had better sets resulting in solid back row attacks earlier in the season.

Agree. I thought the back row sets when in system were much better in the beginning of the season as well. Her back row attacks are given when we are in system as well but I would like to see more attacks out of the middle and OH2. I know the coaches always play to win but this season is over in terms of NCAA hopes so finding an OH2 and middle 2 for next season is imperative and not sure we won't get it from transfer portal, freshman class or development from roster. We will have Cox possibly available if she stays with medical redshirt available. CiCi has an extra Covid year as well and Mia and Lexi have plenty of eligibility after this season and transfer portal is here to stay I think.

I just think as long as Lednicky is on the roster the team under whichever coaching staff we have we will run a 5-1 system.

I think the coaching turnover will be important here. If the coaches leave, I bet a lot of this roster gets turned over. Ledinecky, Meauth, and Underwood would be the only pieces I bet would stay. There is a setter coming in that's very athletic and can see her taking over from day 1, which could be a blessing/curse. Another stud OH coming in that I would hope can produce more than our current options. We really need another good middle. Molly Brown provides little to no offense. If Iffena developes, then she is your no doubt M2

She still has her Covid year from my calculations. She played 3 years at ND, 4th year at A&M. So, it's up to her if she wants to come back

I feel like we have a really really tall middle sitting on the sidelines that gets no playing time. Why is that?
Ag4eva95
How long do you want to ignore this user?
She isnt ready. I've seen her film, not anything to be excited about. Tall doesn't equate to good. She needs time to develop. Google her name and look at her film.

A&M had a 6-7 girl from Mexico a few years ago that never saw the court. Was a junior national teamer too.

I was impressed by one of Auburn's middles who can smash the 10ft line at an angle. I don't know how many of those she got vs the Aggies.

Any of our middles capable or is it a size thing? Our middles are undersized other than the one who doesn't play.
Ag4eva95
How long do you want to ignore this user?
She did have a solid game! Not saying that all tall girls can't play. I'm just certain the one on our team will be nothing but depth in blowout matches. Hope I'm wrong.

It's usually up to how our coaches recruit. Shelby Sullivan and Jazz Babers were all Americans at A&M and weren't the tallest. Just fast and smart.

I feel we struggle most with our setter and our passing. The hitters do a great job when they are set well.

She was known that she was redshirting this year...she hasnt dressed at all this season

she is a complete project and i dont know which coach on this staff is working with her to catch up

and the Mexician 6'7 girl was slow so so so slow

If you don't think this is a stress fracture from over-usage you are kidding yourself. See Lauren Davis and why she medically retired.

Lauren Davis wasnt used as much as LL has been

not even close

but constant jumping like Logan has taken isnt normal

That said I didnt expect a win against Florida even with Logan playing

But what it showed was the roster isnt at SEC level but each player can play at an SEC level but it has to be consistant not occasionally

Mia Johnson had a good game on the outside with 13 kills but still hit only .143

No production from RS at all and when we had no option there we still didnt set middle enough

Terrible about LL for sure. That's a big loss.

So no production from right side but from stat line appears Faye got in for 3 sets and if I recalled Played right side and was set a whopping 1 time. Lexi started again (not sure why) and struggled from Right side like the left, with another match with negative hitting pct number!
How can that even equate to moving the ball around. Tried to work in the middles but hard to trust when one swings and misses a ball. Ouch.

The 5th year setter needs to wake up and distribute the ball a bit more evenly it appears and stop dumping the ball
So much.

And for the love of GOD why do we constantly serve a libero/DS when there is a 6-7 hitter in back row and only was targeted like 2-3 times?

I know I know. Tear me Up you mega million vball Forum
