If you look at the positives so far
She made the Sweet 16 her second season.
That is about it
Negatives
Other than Gomez and a freshman in Rush, who was raw , that was done with pretty Corbellis recruits.
All of her scholarship HS players other than Rush and DS have left the program. And I am unsure why Rush wasn't around for two or three matches before Cox went down mid season
Steady decline in consistency and performance.
That said we had to deal with Covid last season and if we are giving Buzz a pass in men's BB it is only fair we do the same in other sports
Can the staff and players move the program forward??
That is what I am unsure about. It is definitely possible to happen but the season and last season are over in terms of anything meaningful.
We lose the starting setter and unless they come back both starting middles.
We bring back all the pins unless they leave and that is the major issue stat wise this season in terms of consistency. We can't hit out of system at the level a top 25 needs to and we cant pass at that level either even bringing in tons of different DS players for that purpose each set…each match and once again consistency from the back row is somewhat suspect.
I look at the roster and the abilities and think we are OK. A tweek here or there maybe an upgrade at a position or two but how can you have a player hit .700 one day and -.222 the next match and the day they hit .700 the rest of the team doesn't even hit zero. And the person who hit .700 then becomes one of the less than zeros three of next four matches.
We are who are record is because although injuries happen we really only lost Cox this season and sadly up until the actual match she got injured she was a non factor.
