When it was 3-0 last night, I was thinking that if Bones lost the next game he was going to be fired. 3-2 with a bad penalty called at the end might give him an extra game or so.

The only thing working in his favor right now is the injuries and how crazy our schedule has been so far.

Surely we knew this was coming. Extend the guy who, with a relatively small head coach resume in the NHL does not have a quality winning percentage, and expect this team to be a contender?

I enjoyed the run last summer, as did all Stars fans, but really thought keeping Bowness as a result of that finals trip was a mistake based on his head coaching history.

Agree completely. And what's worse is he will be kept around because of built-in excuses: 'Rona, shortened season, injuries, new division, etc. Y'know, things that EVERY OTHER TEAM IN THE LEAGUE is dealing with!

I really don't think this sh*t play is on the coaching. The team wanted Bowness, and it was the right move to keep him after the bubble run.

The sh*t play is all about the mistakes, squandered scoring opportunities and terrible defense in front of both goalies.

The playoffs under Bowness were the only time in the past few years that I've possibly thought this team could be competitive without both Tyler Seguin and Alexander Radulov. And Radulov played decent in the playoffs.

This team has gone through 4 coaches since Lindy Ruff decided to coach defense, including Ken Hitchcock, and the lack of secondary scoring has been a consistent theme.
