Regardless, Dallas is very interested in Jones. Guess we'll see. "Fun" part of the offseason kicks off this weekend.
Haha, yeah, Jones has played 100 more NHL games than Klingberg. He was a full time player at age 19 back with Nashville.Cramp00 said:
I would have lost alot of money on who's older.
Klinger is 28, Jones is 26. I feel like Jones has been around for 15 years.
Early word is #SeaKraken are closing in on contracts with two UFA defensemen: Adam Larsson (EDM) and Jamie Oleksiak (DAL).

Not finalized. But barring any last minute change, the expectation is those players will be the selections from #Oilers and #GoStars.@DFOHockey
Yep - obviously it hurts to lose Oleksiak, but trading Dickinson was the smart play. If Seattle took Dickinson, then Oleksiak has 31 other teams he can sign with. At least we ended up with third round pick out of this instead of nothing.FWAppraiser said:
Calculated risk, I guess. There was no guarantee that Oleksiak was staying, even if the Stars left Dickinson exposed. In that scenario, you lose both for nothing.
The #SeaKraken have traded Tyler Pitlick to the Calgary Flames for a fourth round draft pick in the 2022 #NHLDraft.

Thanks for the mems, Tyler. It’s been a wild ride. pic.twitter.com/BOLy4DA6ez
Seth Jones (traded to Chicago) is a weak defender, both at driving shots at 5v5 and 5v4 and also weak at preventing shots against at 5v5. Finishing is ordinary, PK good. pic.twitter.com/2YNzBrT4RV

Wyatt Johnston to Dallas.
— Steven Ellis (@StevenEllisTHN) July 24, 2021
Johnston didn't play this year outside of the U-18 World Championship, and he mainly played a defensive role with Canada. Still, this could pay off well for DAL because while he's still an unknown quantity, he's a good team guy that can fit any role.
Dallas picks Wyatt Johnston

I have to be honest: I didn't watch a ton of him, because he didn't play this season outside of the U18s. But he looked reeeeeally good at the U18s. This is a homerun swing based off of his toolbox
A lot of other teams are gonna be upset that Dallas took Wyatt Johnston. This kid has excellent hockey sense and attacks with speed. Lots of room to go, but tons of potential

Wyatt Johnston is an 18-year-old centerman. Stars current NHL outlook at center (UFA year in parenthesis):

Tyler Seguin (2027)
Roope Hintz (2023)
*Jamie Benn (2025)
Radek Faksa (2025)
Now, IF Braden Holtby is signing on a cheap deal and IF Bishop is done and IF Khudobin gets traded, that's $7.5 million of cap space created with a Oettinger-Holtby. But let's see what happens
