His line at the end saying "This might not be the best idea" definitely felt like Marvel being tongue in cheek regarding all the question marks surrounding this film and whether it's going to work or not.

Just shows how self-aware Marvel is and how much more "they get it" as opposed to Sony and DC.

Looking more awesome with every trailer. That being said, I think I'm going to avoid any additional ads for this - I want to be genuinely surprised by the laughs, etc.

And Cooper/Rocket Racoon is gonna absolutely kill.

Went to an advance screening of 17 minutes in IMAX 3D tonight...it was AWESOME. They actually showed one long sequence with plenty of character stuff, action and LOTS of humor.

If word of mouth gets out on this, it'll do amazingly. I expected to enjoy this but was blown away.

Definitely can't wait til August 1st.

For a movie with no true stars (as of yet), based on a comic no one's ever heard of, $60M would be a pretty big deal. Some people are even saying it could do $80M, and that would be insane. It would no doubt solidify just how strong the Marvel brand is.

I consider myself the "average" movie-goer. I think it will do well because there isn't much in the month of July that is making me want to hit the theater.

If I haven't been to the theater in a while, I get the urge to go and a movie like this would make me want to go even if I wasn't sure about it.

I've been thinking about it and believe I'll set my domestic gross prediction at an even 200. I think it could do better, but don't want to shoot too high. :-)

Mostly I think the Marvel brand, word of mouth, and the fact that there's NOTHING else like it out there will equal a big payday. It will be very unique and fresh.

Testing, I believe. Not always accurate, but they have a ton of reference data.
