bilbo's feet are huge
Yeah I noticed that too. They look way bigger than the hobbits' feet in lotr.
Elijah Wood said on Jimmy Fallon last night that they're prosthetic feet, as opposed to the glue and hair they used before.
Shot of Peter Jackson at the Hobbit table is weird. It's weird, you would think they would look like just two normal guys at a normal sized table, but instead, I see it as a hobbit and a hobbit sized PJ at a hobbit table.
It will be interesting to see how they make the characters look younger when they have all aged (those that were in LOTR) 11-12 years.
Well for one, ian mckellen looks pretty much the same. And elijah wood, well he just doesn't age. Maybe orlando looks a bit older, but not by much.
Hobbits age slowly, Elves live forever, and Gandalf is really, really old anyway. The only real problem would be for human characters, but there shouldn't be any overlap of those between the movies.

Kinda surprised with the direction they're going with these dwarves. They look a little more...snow white than I would have expected. But they're giving each dwarf a lot of personality, and not just going with the generic dwarf look, and that's good to see.

Went to B&N to check out Hobbit article in Empire, but they were out.
They look pretty good. Like Gimli but a touch more regal. They are long displaced nobles right?

I know Thorin is the King of the Lonely Mountain (at least would be if the dragon wasn't there). Most of the rest of the dwarves in his crew are relatives, if I'm remembering right (cousins and nephews and the like). I suppose being related to a King makes you nobility...but then that would make Gimli (Gloin's son) nobility as well.

I always thought that it was obivious, the entire Fellowship save Gandalf and the hobbits were royal blood lines.
Legoas was a prince, Aragorn was the true king, boromir was a prince, gimili was a price as well.

Lots of goblin-town sets in the video, I'm guessing that was the bulk of shooting that made up the first block.
So awesome to see Bilbo and Elrond in Rivendell. Also really neat to see an actual frame of footage on pic #22. Looks to me like the scene where Bilbo is sneaking around trying to pickpocket the trolls, or sneaking around the elf town in Mirkwood.

the location scouting stuff is so freaking cool. i know it's probably a lot tougher and more and strenuous than it seems but dang that would be such an awesome job
also, peter jackson is a freakin hardass. f*** holiday, gotta get **** done. i bet it's an absolute pleasure to work for him on one of his movies
