During Monday's edition of TexAgs Radio, Richard Zane joined to take us Around Aggieland and provided updates from the links, the diamonds, the tennis court and beyond following a busy weekend for the Maroon & White.


Women’s Tennis (19-7, 9-4 in SEC play)
No. 12 Texas A&M fell to No. 2 Georgia in the SEC Championship on Friday morning at the Alabama Tennis Stadium in Tuscaloosa.

  • The Bulldogs defeated the Aggies, 4-0.

The NCAA Tournament is set to begin on May 7 with the first two rounds being held at campus sites before the Sweet Sixteen moves to Orlando, Florida.

Men’s Golf
After a lackluster first two rounds at the SEC Championships at Sea Island Golf Course in Saint Simmons Island, Georgia, No. 12 Texas A&M rallied back on Friday to make the cut.

The Aggies now await their postseason destination as NCAA Regionals are to be announced next week.

  • The 2021 NCAA Men’s Division I Championship field will be announced on Wednesday, May 5, at 1:00 p.m. CT on GOLF Channel.

Soccer (11-3, 7-1 in SEC play)
#7 Texas A&M will face the winner of South Florida and Central Connecticut State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina on Friday, April 30.

  • The first-round action between USF and CCSU is set for Tuesday, April 27.
  • A&M’s match and the entirety of the tournament will be streamed on NCAA.com.

Track & Field
Texas A&M competed at the LSU Alumni Gold meet in Baton Rouge on Friday and Saturday against some of the top programs in the Southeastern Conference, including the hosts, who are the nation’s top-ranked teams on both the men’s and women’s sides.

  • Deborah Acquah won the women’s long jump with a distance of 22-4.25 (6.81m) to better her school record. The jump is the third-best in the NCAA this season.
  • Charokee Young won the women’s 400m with a personal best of 51.49.
  • Bryce Deadmon won the men’s 400m with a personal-best 44.58, the second-fastest in the NCAA this season.
  • The women’s 4x400m team of Tierra Robinson-Jones, Charokee Young, Jaevin Reed and Athing Mu won the event with a time of 3:27.16.
  • Josh Brown won the men’s discus with a throw of 178-8 (54.46m).

Next on Texas A&M's schedule is the Alumni Muster meet at E.B. Cushing Stadium in Bryan-College Station.

  • The event will be held on Saturday, May 1, and will stream on the SEC Network+ beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT

Softball (31-14, 8-10 in SEC play)
Texas A&M took a road series from Mississippi State this weekend in Starkville.

The Aggies are off during the midweek and will host No. 14 Kentucky this weekend at Davis Diamond for a three-game SEC series.

Baseball (23-19, 5-13 in SEC play)
Texas A&M dropped a conference series to No. 6 Tennessee this weekend at Olsen Field.

The Aggies return to Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park on Tuesday as they host Texas State in the final midweek home game of the season.
