I am on my third day home From the hospital and I can feel my lungs improving everyday. Slowly but surely. I make sure to get up and walk around every 45 minutes or so. It's a slow recovery with the lungs but as long as I can feel improvement everyday, then I'm good. Thanks for checking in, I am so ready to be back to 100%.

Looks like I will be discharging home tomorrow. PT and OT evaluated me today, sure was nice seeing some familiar faces for once. Will discharge home on oxygen and a steroid taper. I am currently at 4L of oxygen, down from 10L on Saturday.
My oxygen does really well until the afternoon/evening when it struggles at times. But it will get better with therapy and patience.

Well. Stopped my oxygen for a few mins. Dropped to 87. Then had me walk 4 laps in the room. Dropped to 78%. I can tell I am weak but I didn't struggle. Oxygen rebounded fairly quickly.

Sounds like you are on track. That first walk around the nurses station I had to do the day before I left was extreme humbling and whipped my butt. Keep pushing brother, you will be back with your family soon and the tears will be flowing.
Crazy it's still that hard but I am sure you'll rebound quickly at home!
Trying to get clearance to return to work remotely, but the hospital wants me to see my primary care physician, which I don't have. So trying to track one down that is accepting new patients and will do return to work authorization. So frustrating.
Good luck Rex, hope you are able to find a doctor. I use Richard Smith at the physicians center but I'm not sure if they are taking new patients are not.

Not odd at all. He was hospitalized for over 2 weeks. The company wants to make sure he is recovered enough to safely work. They don't want his health going south because he is working when he should be resting and recovering.

Yeah, I get that. I guess I just didn't expect it to translate to working from home. The one time I was seriously ill I had to get one too, but I was also returning to the office.

I am getting stronger every day. Still have a ways to go. I don't use my oxygen except for a few minutes after my shower. That still takes it out of me.
Good deal. Showers take it out of me too. I'm slowly getting better as well but I can tell it will be a lengthy recovery to get my lungs and stamina back to 100%. Continued prayers for your recovery.
It felt great being at home finally and seeing my family but still have to quarantine till Friday though. Had a restless night sleeping, mainly from the noise of the concentrator. It was in the next bedroom and it still drove me crazy. Walking every hour, spirometer every 30 mins, laying on stomach throughout the day, but need to start some general exercises. Still on 4L with the concentrator, which doesn't feel like much coming out but my numbers are staying steady. How are you doing?
Good deal Curry, glad you are doing better. I'm doing well. Tired of sitting around but I know it will be a slow recovery getting back all the way. It's crazy what this pneumonia did to our lungs. Still dealing with a cough but that's normal as I use my lungs more. I'm finally not using oxygen at night while I sleep. Took awhile to get brave enough to sleep without it. I use it about an hour before bed and then turn it off so I do feel like I'm making small progress each day.
My fingers are not having the best circulation. I am going to mention it to urgent care when I go in a few minutes to try to get my return to work (remote) note.

I have those cheap disposable ear plugs. That helped me with sleeping with that thing. So glad you are home!

Are you fingertips discolored? What is your capillary refill on your fingernails?

Not at all. The doc is recommending I do a full dose aspirin for a month, though.
They put me on baby aspirin for the next month when they released me from the hospital.
