Just tested positive

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I will say, we caught it from an engagement party this weekend. Nobody knowingly had it over the weekend, but a girl we were with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday text my wife Sunday evening saying she was running a fever. She tested positive Monday morning. Since then, a total of 9 people have tested positive from the party. 7 of them have at least had their 1st vaccine, one is too young, and the other is unvaccinated.

I'm very happy we got the vaccine. I didn't necessarily get it to prevent myself from getting covid, but to lessen the effects, and even if it prevented me from getting it just a little it was worth it with my wife being pregnant. It will be interesting to see how everyone does with it though compared to the girl who is unvaccinated. I know one of the ladies (probably in her 60s) went up to Premier ER last night for back pain but went home because they were too busy.

Good deal. I made it home today and I know what you mean on being shaky while walking, my legs are so weak. Felt like I've done more walking today than all week though. I know it's gonna be another 2-3 weeks before I'm fully healed but I'm headed in the right direction.

I am sure your families who love you and have been worried for you are very happy to have you home, and for those of you still being treated, prayers for healing and recovery.

If you do not currently have a primary care provider, please research and engage with one for both preventative and future health needs. Especially for those of you who've had pneumonia. With the respiratory bugs that travel through our area, especially during the fall and winter months, you'll want to be very protective of your lungs--you need them and your families love and need you!

I'm hanging in there. Planning on stopping the supplements tomorrow because I've had really bad stomach issues all day and it started shortly after taking them. Temperature has been hovering around 100. Oxygen pretty steady at 95-97. No appetite, not a whole lot of energy. My wife tested positive last night and she's 9 weeks pregnant so I'd appreciate any prayers her way. She pretty much only has congestion right now.

Thank you for asking!
Hope she's vaccinated and has zero issues and you start feeling better soon. And to all you non Vaxxers, I only hoped she's vaccinated because pregnant women are at increased risk and need the vaccine more.

After our first ultrasound we talked to our OB and she recommended it so we got it. I had already gotten it a week before but we wanted to make sure she thought it was ok for her to get it. According to her, Delta is taking a lot of babies and she said they didn't lose babies the first round.

I will say it depends on your OB. A friend of mine is due at the end of September. At first, he told her not to get the vaccine because he didn't trust it. About a month ago she had kidney stones. They checked on the baby then and then her OB told her he recommended getting the vaccine. She said she was still hesitant and he told her "me too." About a week later she got covid. They've checked on the baby weekly and everything appears to be going well, but she was pretty frustrated. I'm glad our OB was at least decisive so my wife didn't have any hesitation.

Sounds like you guys approached it like I would, with the advice of my doctor. I am glad to hear you are both vaccinated and hope your experience with Covid is quickly overcome.

Sounds like your doctor handled this better then your friends. I am sorry for them, you are right, wishy washy didn't help.

Had a decent afternoon. Didn't have to use my non rebreather for a few hours to keep my oxygen up, just a cannula. Spent a lot of time laying on my sides and prone. Getting there, but still a ways to go. Trying to eat and keep my oxygen up is the hardest thing to do. Thanks for checking.

Did you make it home?

Curry, wanted to check and see how you are doing today.

Had probably the best night's rest so far. Have only used the non rebreather once or twice in the last 12 hours to supplement a drop in o2. They still have me on 10L through a regular cannula (don't know how that rate really works on a regular nc). Feel pretty good today so far. Oxygen hardly drops below 90 now unless I get up and move around, which the nurse gets on to me about. Lol.

Only new issue that I am having is difficulty opening my sinuses. They are probably inflamed, no drainage. Used Flonase earlier. If I could breathe through them more efficiently, it would help.

Sounds like you are improving! It's amazing what getting some sleep will do for you. Continued prayers for you and your recovery.

My nose and sinuses still feel all messed up from the 6 days of high flow oxygen.

Mine, too. My Flonase helps with that, too.

It tends to be something that you have to use for about a week for full effect. But Flonase changed my life as far as my allergies go.

Doing well, thanks. I've still got some sinus stuff and stomach issues but I feel like both are getting better. I feel like I'm on the back end of it. I think football helped a ton yesterday. Got the energy up and got me up walking around.

Wife is doing well too. Mostly just congestion with her. She hasn't ran a fever yet. Both of us have a lingering cough, but it's nothing major.

Not bad. Thought I had a good night but Woke up lethargic and really stuffy this am. RT came in and dropped my oxygen to 6L from 10, and my numbers are 94-97% lying down. Sitting at edge of bed they are 92%. Last tx of remdisivir is today. Getting tired of the Lovenox injections in my stomach. Lol

Sat in a chair for an hour yesterday afternoon, which felt great till the end. Started to get tired. Work in progress my friend. Thanks for checking.

I came home with oxygen and I use it when I get up and do my walks around the house. I did use it while I slept for the first two nights, for a security blanket. I may try sleeping tonight without any, although I'm still nervous about it.

I will have to check with my wife. Caprock sent all the paperwork in on the day I was leaving and my wife picked it all up before she came and got me from the hospital. When she gets back home this afternoon, I will ask her and get back with you. It was a very easy process.

My recovery is going pretty well. I have slept with my oxygen each night as a security blanket, as well. I may go without tonight. I just took a nap and woke up so gave me a boost of confidence.

Caprock hooked us up with:

Medi Care Equipment Specialties Inc
2308 E Villa Maria Rd
Bryan, TX 77802

It's on Villa Maria next door to the colonoscopy place (close to E. 29th).

They sent us home with two O2 tanks for light travel, and a Philips Respironics Everflo Oxygen concentrator, which has been the workhorse.

Yep, that's the one. So far everything has worked really well for us.

Checking up on everyone and hoping all are still in good spirits and better health.

For the recently released--don't overdo!! I know, I know, you feel better and want to just rub some dirt on it and get back to doing what you've always done, but seriously--let the recovery of your lungs be steady and sure.
