I am doing okay, good folks of TexAgs. Know that I love you all. For the most part my O2 levels are hanging in there. We are so blessed to have Caprock Hospital here. SUCH wonderful people!
Do you regret not getting vaccinated?

I am going to be completely honest. Yes. I wish I had been vaccinated. I am still against mandates, but looking at all evidence, getting vaccinated is the best move, in my opinion. Given the alternatives, I see no reason to purposely avoid vaccination. And I take no offense at being asked the question.
Would you consider sharing that thought, and your Covid experience, in a separate thread or perhaps in the Political forum? I think when someone was arguing against vaccination, but then has a change of heart due to personal experience, it can carry a lot of weight and really help someone else. Probably sounds overly dramatic - probably IS overdramatic - but it could even potentially save a life.

I'm hanging in there. Just staying on oxygen treatments and rhemdisvir. I've been here since Friday, so I still have a ways to go yet I'm sure. I don't wish this on anyone and I pray that everyone on here avoids this. When I got Covid, seemed like a mild case and I got some
Meds called in and was feeling better all most right away. Once the chest tightness started, it went downhill quickly for me.
ETA, this is day 16 total for me with Covid symptoms. Chest problems started about day 8.
That is consistent with the earlier strains of Covid - day 8/9 seemed to be a turning point for some.

That's great news. Now do what your nurses and doctors tell you, so you can go home!!

I jumped the gun. I am still stuck here, but I feel like I am getting closer.
Hopefully there's some nurses like this:

If she was my nurse, I think I'd be looking for ways to stay in the hospital

I live nearby, but best I can do is some Windex and steel wool. If you tip well I will throw in some Axe body spray.

It's difficult to read tone in the written word, but both of you "sound" in better spirits so keep on healing and heeding the doctors' orders and best wishes for a short stay.

Rex, you might just save a life on this board with your experience and this post. There are currently several threads of people in the fence. Thanks and I today is another step towards home!

I started a thread last week about being on the fence.
Up until about 2 weeks ago I was 100% against the vaccine.
My mother ( low 60's) got the vaccine couple months ago, I was actually upset she got it... she was only one in family to get vaccine at that time.
My wife got vaccinated last week.. tomorrow me and my dad (mid 60's) have appointments to get vaccinated.

Good to hear. At this point it seems COVID is coming for everyone. There aren't many options to protect yourself from it except the vaccine.

I started coughing Saturday night after coming down from the top of a barn. There were plenty of allergens around (Johnson grass and cedar) and so I thought it more likely that it was an allergy issue.

The coughing reached its peak Sunday evening. I couldn't stop coughing for several hours.

I felt much better yesterday, but I woke up this morning with a fever (99.9). My normal temperature i in the 95 to 97 range.

I'm now waiting for the doctor's office to open at 8 am so I can make an appointment to go in for testing.

ETA: Appointment is at 11 am.

I also need to pick up my prescription renewals from the pharmacy. I'm down to about 5 thyroxine pills.

As Dr Z says - You have a date with the vaccine or Covid in your future, but if it's both your chances of dying is vastly lower.

Edit: great watch:

No final word yet. But things are definitely improving. I think I was totally off the O2 last night. They had me out walking with the big guy last evening for a bit. But they put me in an N95 mask first. That made the walk a little tougher.
