First and foremost, praying he continues with a speedy and full recovery. I know what he's going through. I didn't have COVID, but about 4 years ago was in the ICU for a week with pneumonia.

But I mean it's a good point. Seems he was happy to not be vaccinated when he was diagnosed and many people were happy as they starred his post. Everyone thinks it can't happen to me, I mean this weak virus only effects .3% of people, why would I get the vaccine. If even a few people read this and it changes their mind, at least some good came from it.

I am doing okay, good folks of TexAgs. Know that I love you all. For the most part my O2 levels are hanging in there. We are so blessed to have Caprock Hospital here. SUCH wonderful people!
Do you regret not getting vaccinated?

I am going to be completely honest. Yes. I wish I had been vaccinated. I am still against mandates, but looking at all evidence, getting vaccinated is the best move, in my opinion. Given the alternatives, I see no reason to purposely avoid vaccination. And I take no offense at being asked the question.
Rex, you might just save a life on this board with your experience and this post. There are currently several threads of people in the fence. Thanks and I today is another step towards home!

This thread has made me reconsider. I've been very strong against it, but I'm going to reach out to my oncologist and talk to her about it. Glad you're doing better. Were you in good health before this? No other issues but this?

I really, really don't get people starring that post. So odd.

I guess I can understand not wanting to get vaxxed but I don't get cheerleading the fact that somebody that just got diagnosed with covid is unvaxxed.

Strange times.

I had no underlying health issues before this. Still don't. But given what I have lived through with all of this, I am all in with the vaccine going forward. I still don't like mandates, but I just do not see a downside to getting the vaccine at this point. That said, I am a 52 year old man who will never be pregnant. So each person just needs to make the best decision for themselves, and I pray we get through it.

Glad to hear you are getting better and like someone said above, you may have saved a life if someone else gets vaccinated that wouldn't have.

Check out Dr Peter McCullough. His advice is to treat early. Don't wait till you have to be hospitalized. You have a short window to get on Ivermectin where it will work. Monoclonal antibody treatment. He also talks about aspirin to thin the blood and prevent clotting, especially after recovering. D3, Zinc, C, Magnesium, etc. Load up. Check him out.

Didn't realize we were 5 pages in on the post. Hope you are better. Sounds like you are.

Having been in the ICU for multiple days a few years ago, I would not wish that experience on anyone. All I could think of with dread, was the future of my family and what were to happen if my dumbass were gone. Cannot imagine what you're going through in there with multiple weeks.

Anyway, I know the nurses are angels and all, but get outa there asap! Football starting soon and games aren't gonna watch themselves.

This broke my perfect streak. I had NEVER spent one single night in the hospital. I have been incredibly blessed with my personal health so far in life. It is part of the reason I want everyone to know that if I had to do it all over again, I would get vaccinated!

I'm really very glad you're doing well, and I hope and pray you can go home from the hospital very soon.

I'm also grateful to you for answering the question about your views on vaccination status so graciously, and for being pro-vaccine now. I pray people who are on the fence will listen to you.

I know of several people who were unvaccinated who have spent multiple days in the hospital, and unfortunately none of them seem to be willing to admit that they should have had the vaccine. One guy was seriously thisclose to death for several days and would have left young children at home, but it seems he's still afraid to say that vaccination is a good thing, at least on his Facebook page. I haven't asked him personally for fear of being thought insensitive.

Why was my reply to this deleted? I meant it as a thoughtful reply and it wasn't remotely off topic or trolling.
