With Ole Miss, it was at least a little understandable, they rose from preseason #5 to #1 during the season before injuries hit them. They had a lull, then became healthy, and went on a tear.

OU was unranked and predicted to finish 14th in the SEC. To their credit, they rose up to #8 in March before falling out of the polls halfway through May. Something clicked right after they lost in the SECT, and they've been on fire ever since.

50-60 mph winds on Sunday. We could have won on Friday.

I'm at a birthday dinner for one of my husbands friends and the perfectly nice ******bag across the table from me told me he stopped watching baseball as soon as texas was out but wow I *might* know more about college baseball than him

Yep. I'd rather have a rough regular season and be in the CWS finals, than have a great regular season and lose in the regional

I still think the funniest thing that could have happened was Del Conte taking another job in the summer of 2024 or in 2025 after hiring Schloss.

There was a big AD job that came open I remember and his name was mentioned as a candidate. I'd pay to have seen the look on Schloss's face had that happened

Decided to let my ESPN lapse early this year. Figured I'd just go to some local bars to watch the late post season and scope out some new bars.

Two supers and two CWS finals now. Three indy bars and a BWWs.

Every single one of them I had to ask for someone to turn one of the screens to it. Not one had a clue that college baseball is even a thing apparently. Only one other person so far I have spotted seemed to have any passing interest in paying attention to these games. CWS G1 at BWW. Just checked Youtube streaming, highest count one is 5700. Kind of depressing. All in metro area.

ETA: All were advertised as sports bars btw

My new favorite thing is when relief pitchers enter the game, and umpires check their hands for a foreign object like this is pro wrestling. I call it "The Georgia Rule".

I was getting annoyed that the announcers couldn't stop talking about the player who's going to be attending med school until I remembered they could have been talking about Mendoza's refusal to play for schLOSS while he was coaching at A&M. I'm so glad tu is out of this thing.
