My problem with Schloss in this is that I feel like this is a dad fighting a personal battle. He happens to be our head coach, so it's making news.

And I would NEVER hold up a paper to the dancers. I'd probably just go up to the concourse and get some fresh air.

I get it, and the guy holding up the paper is being a bit of an ass to show his disapproval, but the dance team is forced and awkward so it's not surprising that someone crossed the line from tolerant annoyance to making a show of ignoring them.

It's a bit over the line and the fan should just ignore it, but he's not throwing rotten fruit at them or booing so it's a little petty on the part of Schloss to call it out in a postgame presser.

If one/a group of our fans are acting in any of the ways Schloss described, then they need to be addressed. And I'm fine with it being done publicly, so that other fans can be on the lookout.

That said, I'd be fine with the dugout dancers slowly dying off due to lack of interest. Worse things have happened.

Am I a fan of the dance team being there? Not particularly. However it's not too much to respect the ladies and the hard work they put in and cheer and applaud appropriately. And I'd much rather they be there than the yell leaders. I am very disappointed in whoever thought it was appropriate to hold up a newspaper and anyone who booed any of our players.

Yelling at the coaches is one thing, yelling at the players is entirely another.

I can remember them riding M.J. hard when he sent someone who was thrown out. The 1st deck fans behind the 3rd base dugout were bitter old Ags my first season (1991) and my last one (2013). I can't imagine that that has changed, and it likely never will.

that's why I think Schloss would have said something. It got pretty bad at times. I remember Deggs yelling back at the fans a time or two

It saddens me to think that our own fans are yelling at our players. I wish I could say I find it hard to believe, but given some of the things I've seen on here, it's believable.

If someone doesn't want to watch the dance team, that's totally OK. I don't watch the dance team. I usually hardly notice they're there, honestly, as I am probably polishing up my scorecard or checking the tweets. I apologize to Coach that I don't pay rapt attention to them.

The newspaper thing...a real dick move by a real dick.

I don't agree with fans yelling at players or disrespecting dancers. I also don't agree with the head coach addressing it during a press conference. Delegate and have someone associated with running the facility on game day address the situation while it's happening. Focus on coaching.

I'm class of '90. Seems like back in the 80's the milkmen showed up for a game and led yells. That was God awful and out of place. I like the ladies at Olsen. We need them in the end zones at Kyle. If my old ass can open my mind others can try as well.

I went to the UT BB game last week. Some much older Ag had the audacity to ask me if I knew anyone who handles the in-game entertainment. They needed to complain. This older Ag could not stand the music at time outs. They wanted yell leaders only and no music. I kindly said the music is here to keep the energy alive and it's about the kids…not us. Jeez.
