So, an update.
5 months later? Holy hell.
I took most of November off of work, drove out to Athens/New Orleans & Vicksburg. Had a hell of time. Spent some of December taking classes to renew my professional license which turned into the regularly scheduled cluster **** renewal with the state that kept me out of work for the good part of a month. So, basically, two months off at the end of last year with no money coming in. Needless to say, not much happened.

I shall call the rest of this post a late Festivas Airing of Grievances.
So, when I decided to install the AC/Heat last spring without putting in the attic insulation (I still need to finish up some work up in the attic) I did so with the understanding there would be some trade offs.
$450 a month to heat this little house this past winter. Had to bust out some space heaters as well. The heat never quite made it to the floor level. 11 foot ceilings and no insulation in the attic will do that I guess.
Insulation and proper, actual, window weather stripping SHALL BE FINISHED THIS SUMMER.
This was taken right before a squirrel ate one of my strands of lights...

I finally found and installed a ceiling fan in the living room:

Dig it, but as with most things lately, it has caused another issue. The living room LEDs now strobe with the blades. Fun! It's not horrific, but I need to find a way to correct the issue. I can move the fan up (which I don't want to do) move the LEDs (which I'm not going to do) or figure out a better bulb/fixture combo that might direct the light down more instead of out.
Additionally, and more importantly, I managed to get a neighbor from hell over the winter. A woman from the hood bought the house next door and let her brother-in-law move in. It was in very early January. They were all evicted by mid-February. I've never seen anything like it. This isn't a cheap neighborhood, so one does not expect a crack den to open up shop next door. Cops were involved the first week, I and another neighbor from across the street had a ****ing verbal altercation the second week with them and it just went downhill from there. Just random people at all hours, arguing and fighting in the front yard at all hours and window rattling music whenever the pyscos damn well felt like it.
I've never encountered that before. Not even in college.
